What's he done to himself? That's a big loss.

Any chance Aussie tack on more than 50 runs this morning gents?

Who knows, but seems unlikely - they look dead in the water!

Aus will be kicking themselves for losing this Test. I would expect England to take the final 3 wickets fairly quickly this morning (certainly before lunch) and leave England to chase a total of less than 100. England will win the match before the end of the day, even on a pitch that Lyon could/will be devastating on.

The match was lost by the Aussie middle-order: Smith, Clarke, Voges and Marsh have made 50 runs between them in 2 innings - that is pretty pathetic batting! Any kind of a decent score (200+) would have put England under severe pressure but Australia instead collapsed England-style!

I expect the Aussies to be skittled out fairly quickly, leaving today's ticket holders with a short enough day to enjoy. God help those who bought tickets for tomorrow and Sunday.

Is the weather OK for today?

Intercostal Strain, he bowled half an over last night then felt his ribs, teied to bowl the next ball, but pulled up and walked off.

Could be a huge loss for England.

    Here we go!

Agreed, whatever about the first innings collapse - they rescued themselves well enough bowling. And were in a great position to put up a decent second innings score with loads of time. You'd think their leading batsmen could have applied themselves better..

Australia looking comfortable and scoring runs so far. Could make things tricky for England.

Aus has scored 70 runs this morning for the loss of 1 wicket. Too little too late, of course, but Smith/Clarke/Voges/Marsh should hang their heads in shame at how well the bowlers are doing with the bat on this pitch - all it needs is a modicum of patience, application and determination!

    121 the target.

    Done by tea?

Aus all out for 265, a lead of 120. Should be a formality for England but, as always, the collapse is never far away! Obviously, Cook and Root will need to score and Johnson/Lyon will make things tricky but a lead of 120 is just too small. If they could have got to 200 I would have fancied them but really England only need 1 batsman to hang around for a while to win the match.

Why didnt Johnson bowl before lunch? It should be Johnson and Lyon bowling the whole way through like Trent Bridge 2005 :D

what happens if England are something like 115/9 - can Anderson come out and stand there and just defend the wicket in his overs, hoping to get the other man onto strike to get the runs, or are they finished?

Totally up to him - there's nothing in the laws to say he can't bat. Malcolm Marshall once batted with a broken arm to save a test.

He can have a runner too can't he? 121 shouldn't be too hard but ya never know!

Utterly mental that Johnson did not open the bowling. Clarke is a mess.

    four, four, four, four

Seem to be justifying his number 3 slot.

Both started with fours. Bell seems really up for it.

I love the way TMS commentators are going quiet and allowing the Mitchell Johnson song to come right through to the listener.
