Some bowling by Mitchell Johnson. Those guys just couldn't get out of the way!

Supposed to be a good day for batting!

England 190-6, with Buttler and Moeen at the crease, both in single figures. England 54 ahead but, with 3 wickets gone already today, they need some runs from one or both of the men batting now - I don't fancy Broad, Finn or Anderson to get many on this pitch. Australia could still win this match if they can bowl England out with a lead of <150.

I hope none of you have tickets for Day 5 of this match!

    16 wickets in 3 1/2 sessions ain't too pretty.

Every time I go out for a minute, somthing happens! i.e. wickets fall. Another couple gone.

278/8 with lead of 142... plenty of time... if I were England I'd be a bit worried, any of the top order of the Aussies are capable of running up a double century. This game far from decided at this stage :)

281 all out - game on, big time. Aussies will hope to bat out the day now with no losses and tick off a few runs along the way.

Aus 31-1 (114 behind). Rogers out early, for 6, so this partnership is vital for Australia - can't afford a failure from Smith today. Got to fancy England really - vital 50 from Moeen at the end - can't see Aus getting a big score on this pitch. Anderson moving the ball all over the shop!

Smith out for 8. Warner not out on 52 crucial he is not let build up a sizeable score

Hmm.. Aussies in deep hole now. Where's their bottle? 4 down......... :(

Finn got Clarke and Voges with back to back balls

Jesus - England could win by an innings having scored less than 280. That can't have happened many times in Ashes tests.

This match will do well to make lunch tomorrow

We have talked a lot about how England rely on Root and Cook, and Moen actually as well, but take Rogers, Warner and Smith out of the Australian line up and they are struggling big time. Even their massive win at Lords was dependent on them.

5 down, 2 day test on the cards? What ground would want to host a game at this rate?

Clarke and Voges have been passengers for this series, both would have no reason to complain if they were not to play the next test.

Nobody bar Rogers, Warner, Lyon or Mitch have contributed anything to this performance whatsoever.

    Finn is bowling beautifully.

    The Australian scorecard is ridiculous.

    Warner 76*

    Australia 102/5!!!

    Nobody else in double figures

    Warner gone

They may take the extra half hour.

No consolation really for Aussies, to lose a test in two days where rain has interfered is disgraceful. Yep the pitch is lively, but not exactly unplayable, England got close to 300 and they gave away some stupid wickets. :pac:

Australia could still make it a bit awkward here. If they could somehow set a nasty wee chase of 100-150 then at the very least they can put England under a bit of pressure. However that is a long long way off at the moment.

    Some day for Finn!

So how much of a lead for the Aussie's would be enough to give them a chance? 130 or so?

The pitch isn't that bad to bat on though, Nevill and the tail don't look out of their depth here.

They need close to 200 to have a chance and also Starc and Haze not to bowl as ****e as they did first innings.

If you want an interesting and competitive test, you need to be up at 4am watching Bangla v South Africa.:pac:
