    What have I just read?

Article from the Irish Independent :

''A 51-year-old man was "blasted in the face" in a drive-by gun attack in Murroe, Co Limerick yesterday in what Gardai called a dispute between two rival biker gangs.''

''A car pulled up outside the club house, located at Mountfune, Murroe, and a gunman -- whom Gardai believe is a member of a rival biker gang -- who was armed with a shotgun, fired at the victim hitting him in the face.''

It's horrendous! I never thought there was that much rivalry between biker clubs here in Ireland?

You should see the squash clubs go toe to toe. It's a melee of rackets, brightly coloured vests and sweatbands that would sicken the most twisted mind.

Pretty unusual event for Ireland, no? I assume that's what OP means.

We have biker gangs?! I thought it was just like lads who like cruising at the weekends, they're hardly up to anything major now.

Motorcycle club according to Rte news. Bit different to a biker gang.

I wonder if they put on really really really bad Irish accents too, just to keep true to the show.

Probably between members of the same club. Suits everyone just to say another group.

Motorcycle clubs have been around a lot longer than sons of anarchy.

All those Honda 50s clogging up the roads!

More importantly, who over the age of 12 has a "clubhouse"??

Something odd alright about a bunch a lads sitting in some building alone together. You do wonder what they be doing.

I'd imagine most football and GAA clubs have "clubhouses"

    Polishing their helmets?

Lived nearby for years. Was unaware of the bike club. Hardly a public menace so.

Club, not gang. Typical indo misleading sensationalism.

Definition of the word gang is 'an organized group of criminals'. They're not.

Dressing rooms and possibly a bar/function room.

What exactly would a gang of motorcyclists in fancy dress have in theirs?

Used to go out with a girl many moons ago who was in the Devil's Disciplines. Before I went out with her had often tried to strike up a conversation with a couple of them but they weren't they are not the easiest folk to talk to unless they feel they can trust you. I have never known loyalty mean as much to anyone I have met before as much as it meant to them. One night while out of my nut I remember ending up in some warehouse they owned that had been kitted out to look like a pub and had I not seen the corrugated iron on the outside, I'd have sworn I was in a legitimate one.

Nothing to do with the story really but I've had a lot of caffeine today and can't stop talking.
