People often now get a friend or neighbour to stay in the house during the funeral to effectively stand guard.
That has been happening for years. I remember a family doing this 25 years ago, long before RIP.ie.

Last stop on the Red Line inbound. Just be careful you don't get a Connolly one. Watch your personal belongings too.

Rules are rules, it's not your property. Unfortunate but that's the reality of it.

As a priest why didn't he get his friends in the church to open their parochial houses and myriad other buildings for this purpose.

Don't accept rent allowance 'for whatever reason'. Would have thought the reasons are well known.

If they just changed the system so that rent allowance went direct to the landlord it would solve to many problems.

    Took a scunder?

A scunder can be a person or a thing. It means a "nuisance". It can be found with several pronunciations. Scunner, Scundered, Scunnered, Scunnert. A neat little phrase sums it up, 'hoisted by your own petard' It is often a personal retort, "That's you totally scundered", perhaps by some sly plan that has backfired. It is commonly used in ulster (Northern Ireland), Scotland and the North of England.

    That would ruin the story!
