She should have dropped the letter down to her late husbands grave or gave them directions to his grave.

Does the grave have an Eircode?

Is his estate not responsible? Ie Any assets left after his death?

Very often these lads have no actual paperwork with your signature confirming the debt.

If you are ever, ever in this situation, first thing to do is ask for any and all paperwork. These are just fishing exercises.

Our good friends in the Revenue are also doing similar fishing exercises on failed business names and limited companies.

Surely that's a failure of the probate process? If he owed money, should it not have been picked up then? Seems odd..... were they notified of his death?

More to the story no doubt. And a substantial sum too, of course they were going to chase it. What is it with Irish people and not taking responsibility for debts?

Yes they should have cleared it before distributing the assets.

she said there were no assets only the family home. People need to make provisions if they have a spouse/ children.

Another Uncle of mine( not the bus driver) died recently, leaving 5 kids with f all. People going round collecting donations, I'm sorry but he should have made provisions....I gave in in the end and donated

Debt recovery companies are nothing more than opportunistic vultures.

You know, I feel for any kid upset by a change of bus driver, but these kids are going to face challenges a lot greater than that in their lives. Things change, situations move on. I'm sure even kids with difficulties will cope with the right support. I think it's a bit ridiculous to be using the child-driver-parent relationship as a reason to be annoyed at a change of driver.

Yes if there's no cash the house can't be touched once they were married.

He died from complications arising from having broken his arm in three places.

Looks like I picked a good day to start my latest sabbatical from the thread.

I can't believe the Pedantic Boring Humanoid has gone into day 3 of OneUpBusManship, even Joe would have given up on it by now. With all these eircode "mishaps" I think we need some sort of Tribunal to investigate and they could recommend the establishment of a Task Force to produce a Report that can be sent to the Seanad who can then establish a Committee to draw up an Action Plan that can go to the Dáil who without reading or discussing it can amend it and pass it into law. Ivan Calorie could act as a consultant on it as he has a few eircodes so would know a lot about it, so to speak. And he's a very fit man don't you know so could cycle between all the meetings. He'd never get saddle sore either as he has some balls to go to court again challenging the leniency of his last sentence.

There is a major problem with that plan Butters. If you are sending reports to the Dáil and Seanad, they probably won't get there due to errors in the Eircodes.
