Utterly brilliant - my fecking caravan has its own postcode.

Does the horse that's pulling it have one? Will the horse be able to get to Cockeye?

Why do we setup committees, reports and start things from scratch when we could just rip off already existing systems that work throughout the world? Reminds me of the health system where they simply need to copy the countries with the best system.

I assume you don't have to use it? Considering couriers and delivery people are not going to use it!!!

The usual irish half baked project job!

You can only do 15 searches, so idiotic, if you were doing your addresses for Christmas cards you would need to just have the 15 friends.
Cookie-based - incognito browser windows solve that - or have more than one browser.

I love this, only Ireland could **** up a postal code system ... you would think it should be a relatively simple task given todays technology ?

I can think of one good use for it. They should give all the Funny Friday performers , the code of the venue. That way none of them would get there.

my mate done some contract work for the FSAI, he said there were people paid to watch the UK one all day and copy the info across if any new products came up

Why don't we setup our own GPS system while we are at it?

    I think it's www.eircode.ie Dan.

That's priceless. They mis-spell the spelling of the State as a start. It doesn't augur well.

On second thought - I suspect eirecode was cyber-squatted and they didn't want to pay, which I heartily agree with.

We'll have great fun with these codes, they just don't make any sense.

For example - I live in Killaloe and I'm less than 0.5km from Ballina in Tipperary, yet I have a Limerick address. Limerick is over 20kms away.

Yeah, I did a search for Loc8 and found nothing. Does it actually exist?

Why is he saying eircode won't help someone who is lost? Sure that's not what is for

The posting / frank on the envelope is from the Delivery Office, not local post office!!!!

The main issue I see is that they have not used standard county lettering and your neighbour or houses on your block are nowhere near the same postcode meaning if you are a digit out it could go anywhere.

Christ we are a nation of whingers! We don't deserve to be on any map!

Is there anything this Government can do properly, apart from fcuking everything up?

Was Joe really off today, or did he try to get to RTE using the Eircode and ended up in somewhere like Newbridge?
