increase magnification of rifle scope

Hi Lads

I have a Leaupold vx1 3x9x50 and I was looking at this site http://www.snipercentral.com/bulzeyepro-3x-optical-booster/

to try and give me a little bit more magnification. The scope worked fine on my .22 but now I have it on the .17 hmr I wanted something a bit more powerful. would you recommend one of these ?? they seem good

your scope should be good enough on a hmr. i have a 4-16x50 s&m on my hmr but always shoot at about 8 power.

It would only bring your 3-9 up to 4-12 at best. It would not give you three or four times the mag as the advertising would indicate.

I was quoted, 4 years ago, a price between $140 - $180 depending on the mag and model i needed.

Thanks for the advice lads, seems like upgrade is best, I was looking at vortex Scopes what do ye think?

I brought a Votex crossfire 2 6-18x44 home from the States and couldn't be happier with it. Something like that would be ideal for what you're talking about. I haven't mounted it on a rifle yet, but it's crystal clear.
