There's some hobb groups on Facebook. Avoid them for now. Spoilers flying around due to people getting advanced reader copies.

Can't wait to get this last one.

Very much looking forward to it even though the last one had far too much of Fitz wallowing and not enough of Bee for my liking (still great though).

Trying to stretch out my current book so I finish it on Wednesday, just in time!

It'll also be the first ever time when my other half and I will be reading the same book at the same time (the joy of ebooks!)

I think you're gonna get a lot more Bee in this.

To be honest it's a safe bet she'll get her own books down the line.

Agreed, it seems to be setting things up to pass the torch in a way. Which is fine by me, she's a great character.

read faster :D...in all honesty- i'm going to drop whatever book I'm reading (currently the non born King Julian May) once this one appears in my kindle.:-)

I only get a half hour on my lunch break most days, usually too tired in the evening so it could literally be a month or two before I get to it

A week ago I would have dropped this book (Book 1 of the Night's Dawn by Peter F Hamilton) no hassle but it's got really good in the last few days >_<

There's nobody like Hobb really is there?

What an amazing world she's created. I didn't love her liveship books but they and the rain wilds books and they say they're all interconnected is a wonderful feat of world building.

I relate to fitz a bit too much. I want to smack him upside the head sometimes but when he gets going he's unstoppable.

Hope to god this book doesn't get spookier on me. Avoiding anywhere that might happen.

I'm a big fan of Weis and Hickman, the books are fabulous, but they don't really reach Hobb's skill.Agree with you on life ships - not my cup[ of tea but loved the rainwilds. yes, you'll be hardpressed to find something that is a good as Hobb's books....I am so excited to get my hands on the final one, yet sad that it's the last one.

I think you'll see more. With the Fool taking care of Bee. She can't kill him again he already died kind of. But let's see.

If you are discussing the book as you read it, remember to use spoiler tags. I would not be pleased to risk seeing a spoiler myself...!
Also state the chapter you've read up to to avoid confusion. Thanks!

haven't mentioned any spoilers - plus as far as I understand this threat is for people who have already read the book?

Wasn't aimed at you, just in general! Anyway, my bad as I thought someone had created a thread for the final book. If so, we can either use spoilers if you want to post as you read or just post when you are finished and ignore the thread until you are done.

I got these recently. You send robin your address and you get a hand signed bookplate in the mail and a little postcard from her thanking you for reading. If you haven't seen the 20th anniversary edition of Assassins Apprentice you should look it up. It's gorgeous.

    wow..just wow.
I would love one but I am a terrible slob and wouldn't be able to keep them to the standard they should be kept in - treasured and on display..the only thing on display in my house are the numerous cats....

Do it anyways. I got the book for €25 on amazon brand new. And it has the MOST AMAZING intro. 3 letters. One from fitz one from the Fool and a note from nighteyes. Signed with a paw print.
    And art by John Howe.
I'll never read it probably. I bought the last editions of lord of the rings in the gorgeous cloth bound hard covers and fully intended to read them but afraid to wreck them.

Hard back book has two cool stages. Pristine and brand new. Or totally old and wrecked. I don't wanna go into the middle at all :)

That looks awesome, really nice job.

I have that limited edition as well and I've gotten a signed and numbered edition of the latest book too. There's a similar edition for the royal assassin as well.
Oh and I have the subpress editions of the first trilogy. They're flightly gorgeous.

I love books and I love Hobb. Hope this is the end of the farseer world, my wallet can't handle any more editions.

Just started reading it last night. Only seven chapters in but excellent so far. Better than expected as I was a little disappointed with the last two books.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,611 ✭✭✭david75

    Haven't gotten it yet.

I think the point of the last two books and particularly the first was to build a slow burn. Fitz is in a very different time of his life. Family man. Living a whole new second life. Sedentary. What will it take to rouse him from that?
    And they do.
    And away we go.
