I've just found the enhanced recipe for an oil but had previously found the superior recipe for the same oil yet I still only have the option for crafting the superior version and am unable to craft the enhanced version (I do have the base oil crafted). Is there a way to fix this?

Crafting goes basic, enhanced, superior and master-crafted.

Anyone tried the new AMD 15.5 beta drivers yet? Lot of posts saying AA is screwed up by them?

I know but the next level is dependent upon having the previous level which I can no longer craft so I'm stuck with the base version.

Edit: Nevermind, it's there now, could've sworn it wasn't there earlier. Maybe I'm just going blind :o

Make sure you have the correct mats to make the enhanced version. You could also try dropping the basic version and re-crafting it.

Just went through roughly the first hour there. The game looks amazing, I'm basically playing it on Ultra settings (using geforce experience) on a GTX780. I've it set to 30fps though but it seems very smooth bar the strange stuttering I'm getting when on a horse. I'm using the XB1 controller so maybe thats an issue?

Eitherway im really looking forward to getting properly stuck into this :D

So when i bought this i thought i would just get stuck in and not bother with Witcher 1 and 2. Fired it up but got CTD 3 times in an hour so thought id wait for a patch,so much for Nvidia game ready drivers!!

In the mean time decided to fire up Witcher 2. I had played 1 but for many reasons just couldnt get into it. So never got round to playing 2 as i thought i would finish 1 at some stage. Boy was i missing out though,Witcher 2 is awesome:)

Ive decided not to bother with 1 and just play 2 and move onto 3 when im finished. Which wont be too long as ive been glued to it all week.

Got the the latest patches and fired up 3 last night just to see if any of my issues were resolved out of curiosity. Played the first 2 hrs and no CTD so happy about that.
Have to say i think it looks impressive, surpriseingly at 1440p a single 970 ,albeit over clocked, performs really well. 40-55 fps with a mix of high and ultra settings. Thought i would have to reduce a lot more than i did. Was hard to stop playing it but definitely want to finish 2 before i do.

Anyway, looks like it will be Witcher games for the next few months for me as my main games, pretty happy about that:)

How to kill a Royal Wyvern. Its kinda shame that this small bugs keep popping up. Game is great but sometimes I feel like there wasn't enough beta testing in it.

You kill them using Witcher sense? That picture tells me nothing thankfully.

Maybe it landed somewhere he's not able to get to?

I've not really experienced any bugs, at least none that have broken quests or anything like that. Geralt occasionally decides to jump for 30 seconds or so after i fast travel, but that's too funny for me to be annoyed :P

Lol sorry it had to cut the text when I put the image.
When it flew over the cliff I shoot it with crossbow it fell on to the hill, freezing in one spot. Took more than half of its health thIs way until it decided to fly again.

Dont shoot them with the crossbow, find a place to fight and bring him to you.

Also pain in the arse getting the loot from them when the body falls.

I have only one bug in a quest atm its a loot quest so no biggie.

I was just curious what will happen. Ive waited like 10min and he still was frozen in that spot. Played with him for a while, took me a second to "free" him, had to shoot him from certain angle to move him with shots from crossbow.
Had similar situation with maybe one or two mobs blocking themself on trees.
If the story wasnt so good probably I would put in on waiting list.
Again I feel like betatester, it is a shame that a lot of new games have to go thru this period.

Sadly my witcher 3 playing has ground to a halt. Can't play more than a few minutes before any kind of menu will crash the whole thing. Really annoyed. Waste of a long weekend.

On Cdproject forum there was few solutions, some ppl did underclock their cpu/gpu. For some it works for some not. Looks like a random factor. Will have to wait for a patch.

Yeah looks like it. I have tried everything and some of the common solutions (unlimited frames, vsync off) seemed to work but since 1.04 nothing seems to solve it. Oh well.

It's a problem alright. And it's not a tiny minority. It's a widespread problem. I wish I had got it on console at this stage but I dont have the heart to start my game again. Too much time invested. So ill just keep saving every 10 steps and reloading 100 times a day when the inexplicable crash happens. :P

At least I can get into the save menu. Thats a saving grace I suppose.

You have an nvidia card by any chance Mewso?

No an r9 290. Problem is I got it second hand from dabs on the cheap (used card) so I'm second guessing myself as to whether the card itself is dodgy. It was perfect with GTAV for ages but I just tried playing GTAV now and it crashed after 5 minutes. This is having played it for hours on the same card with no issues although I did flash the bios in my efforts to get Witcher working. So many variables too little time. Might have to bite the bullet and buy a retail card.

Are you using the 15.5 drivers? Lots of unhappy people since they were released hence I'm still using 15.4.

I've been through the last stable (14.12?), 15.4 and 15.5 but I might try going back to 15.4 for one last shot.

Can't even get past the first village on horseback without the game crashing, have everything on low too!

As far I read the graphic settings doesnt matter. Lots of ppl with gtx970 have the issue, I would presume that it should handle the game quite easily. More like some game engine bug, we have to wait and see, maybe monday patch will fix it.
I really like the game but the more I play it the more I have the feeling it wasnt beta tested properly and we do it now.
New drivers from Nvidia, 353.06 WHQL .
For me it boosted performance nicely, around 10fps more with the same settings.

Got 2nd CTD in 53h of gametime. Thankfully barely any progress lost but it was weird that it took firefox down with it and temporary disabled my Nvidia drivers. Restored firefox (with all 100+tabs) and the drivers quickly afterwards and worked fine, then.

Fear it might have something to do with shadowplay. I turned it on again to spontaneously shadow-cap webms for sharing around here and some image boards.

Wish the game had an in-built and togglable FPS counter with frame-timings. Warframe and source games have that and it's great.

Finally got through GTA5 so picked this up. Been messing about with the settings to see what I can milk out of my system. Running a I5-3570, 8GB Ram, GTX 670 and graphics can be a bit choppy. If I let AMD graphics program optimize my settings I can get it running fairly good.Only a couple of hours in but can see the vastness of the game. The ability to only show one quest on the map is a pain in the arse though...

For anyone crashing, try disabling Nvidia HD audio in device manager, and disable Nvidia streaming service. And make sure GeForce experience isn't running. Been playing an hour without a crash now.

Lads I bought a gtx 970 but I don't know how to redeem the witcher 3 code for it. Any ideas? Apologies if this is a stupid question, I'm new to pc gaming.

For those of you experiencing freezes on NVidia Cards go into the NVidia Control Panel and under Manage 3D settings got to "Program Settings" and select "The Witcher 3" profile. Set the power management mode to "Prefer maximum performance", the preferred NVida setting is Adaptive but apparently either the game or the cards can't cope with that settings and the screen locks up, specifically so in menus.
haven't had any freezes since I did this and my previous post

I got myself a retail r9 290 and no crashes at all last night so time to RMA my other one. There is definitely some heavy lifting going on in the inventory because you see some slow down when browsing the largest tab (which is invariably all the ingredients). Needs optimizing but looks like the next patch might address it. Can finally get back into the game anyway so thats the weekend.
