    35 grand.Twice the dole.

    No wonder you're embarrassed.

If you think the dole is $17.5k you are in for a shock when you sign on.

    Meah 35k is, I don't know, 28k net?

Worker has transport fees, mortgage/rent, possible creche fees, medical insurance and/or medical expenses, etc.

SW recipient has far less transport fees, probable/possible rent allowance, probably no childcare costs, probable/possible medical card.

I'd say there are probably people out there on the dole who have as much disposable income as those with similar family circumstances and earning 35k.

Yeah, but don't forget the €15 a day the SW recipient has to pay for a sixer of Dutch Gold and pack of Johnny Blue.
