Big Brother certainly filling in with an average of 140,000 viewers.

All viewers. Whiskey Business getting just 22,000 viewers.

Awful figures for Whiskey Business - for a show that goes out at 8.30pm. But hard to know what kind of show would do well at 8.30 across the week. Only Adoption Stories is doing ok. Wonder if they kept going with new Irish Come Dine With Me, or some celeb versions - it would be better suited for that timeslot.

CDWM was produced by ITV, I assume UTV now own the rights to that format.

Summertime audiences but still lower than expected

RTÉ One Saturday Night With Miriam had 350,000. They are doing well with the summer docs with Ryanair's doc getting 336,000. Winning Streak is back up to to 313,000 viewers (prob best for a summer national lotto show). CrimeCall 260,000. And 5 repeats in top twenty. 209,000 for Neven McGuire.

What would RTÉ2 do without GAA and Bond? TSGL topping the chart with 364,000 viewers. Gotham at the bottom with 54,000 viewers.

What would TV3 do without Vincent Browne? The People's Debate getting 121,000 viewers. Or repeat ITV programmes? Catchphrase getting 103,000 viewers. Or Judge Judy? 54,000 viewers, no sign of Xpose or The 7 O Clock Show!

What would UTV Ireland do without Coro St and Emmers? Both significantly down this week 284,000 viewers for the top spot. with the bottom spot getting 45,000 viewers for The Cube.

    Soaps and Big Brother

    Name |Average| Episodes
    Fair City |295,000|4/4
    EastEnders |226,000|3/4

    Big Brother |87,000| 6/?
    Coronation Street |258,000| 5/5
    Emmerdale |193,000| 6/6

Red Rock Replacements Adoption Stories 76,000 viewers, less than 56,000 viewers for Wednesday nights edition.

Latest ratings are in (Medialive Adults/Over 15s)

For Winning Streak it gained about 50,000 more viewers than last week with 313,000 watching. Eastenders is really slipping down the charts. The Friday edition doesn't even make the top 20.

For RTE2 - their Sunday line of GAA and Bond does the job for them. Outside of that Home And Away is very low.

For TV3, their surprise hit The Peoples Debate leads with 121,000. Big Brother is nearing to be their best rated show after that. Thursday's episode may have been affected by The Other Guys on RTE2. Having more success at the weekends then UTVIreland.

For UTV Ireland, Corrie and Emmerdale lead the way. although outside of these, the ratings fall dramatically. Even the 8pm programmes they have on a Monday and Friday are delivering mediocre ratings of 68,000 and 65,000 - these are inbetween big rated numbers of Corrie. The Cube of 45,000 is their only weekend entry.

(EDIT - Elmo beat me to most of that summary review. Must type quicker :P)

    Touch Typing!

Anyway it be interesting to see top 40s I don't think top 20s give full picture.

Also be nice to see either TG4 or 3e's top 10 at the very least.

So I am wondering if their is much point but sure we continue as we have. Another week of TV audiences for adults.

RTÉ One continues to slide with Fair City taking up its top 3 spots. The Legacy series of Docs comes to an end with 301,000 viewers at 4. SNWM is down to 285,000 viewers at 5 (Seriously!). Winning streak at 9 258,000 viewers. With 4 repeats in the top 20 AFAIK.

RTÉ2 gets the highest audience of the week for TSGL 431,000 after that 2 follow up films GoldenEye and Hot Fuss did well for the channel. Gotham had 63,000 viewers along with The John Bishop Show and CSI.

Big Brother tops TV3's auience with 105,000 all other shows drop below 100,000 viewers with The People's Debate at 93,000 viewers and at the number 20 Judge Judy at 61,000 viewers.

Coro St and Emmers are down for UTV Ireland Emmerdale's lowest audience at 159,000. Number 20 46,000 for Tuesday's Britain's Best Back Gardens, from 175,000 for Emmers. The Chase at 6pm improves UTV Ireland with 48,000 viewers

    Soaps and Big Brother

    Name | Average | Eps
    Fair City|302,000 | 4/4
    EastEnders |205,000|4/4

    Coro St|294,000| 5/5
    Emmers|191,000|6/6

Red Rock Replacements Adoption Stories with 88,000 on Thursday, nothing for Wednesday's programme.

I am surprised at how well the old bond movies are doing, everyone most have seen them 500 times at this stage.

They follow the Sunday Game, same thing happens for The Simpsons when it followed TSG.

UTVi's drop in figures after Corrie continues. Even after a massive lead-in, RTE1,2 and TV3 beats them at 9pm.

    Mon:
    7:30 Corrie 331,000
8:00 The Big House Reborn 93,000 (drop of 72%)
    8:30 Corrie 337,000
    9:00 Paul O'Grady's Animal Orphans 51,000 (drop of 85%)

    9:00 (TV3) Big Brother 83,000
    9:00 (RTE2) Gotham 63,000
    9:35 (RTE1) Independents Day 271,000

You could do the same with all of the channels, Indeed TV3 would have seen similar drops for its 8:30pm slot. Doc Martin was doing well for UTV Ireland you'd wonder why they dropped it.

Indeed you could go the other way

Not necessarily - they have lost a huge amount of viewers from the highest rated show of the week. TV3's 9pm shows would have never/rarely sunk below 100,000 when they had Corrie on beforehand and it definitely wouldn't have been a drop of 85%.

Doc Martin did indeed seem to be very successful for them. Stumped as to why they aren't using the ITV Studios drama library.
Their prime time shows next week are: Bargain Fever Britain, Britain's Best Canal Journeys, Roman Britain From The Air, The 100 Year Old Drivers, Virgin Atlantic-Up In The Air, The Dentist set in Manchester, Superhospital set in Derby, Vet School set in Edinburgh.

A repeat of Mrs Brown's Boys wound up as the third-highest rated programme of last week, beating Deirdre's funeral on Corrie and the Leinster final! Winning Streak seems well down, and the Seven O'Clock Show sneaks into 20th on the TV3 chart with 49k. Wonder what McGregor will have scored for 3e last night?

No weekend programmes in the Top 20 for both UTV Ireland and TV3. Dominated by RTE2's GAA and programmes and films which follow it.

Really strange for TV3 - no The Cube, Family Fortunes, Catchphrase, Big Brother, The Chase Celeb which normally rate well every weekend. Would there be a mistake by medialive I wonder, or was it just bad due to RTE's dominance?

    Very very impressive.

Fair play to the team who decided to cash-in on McGregor before RTÉ could get the UFC copyrighted shows.

Seven O'Clock Show back in top 20 but with just 49,000 viewers.

TV3's top twenty are down significantly from previous weeks, even though last week all but one was under 100,000 viewers. Judge Judy making it back and Xposé getting 63,000 viewers.

    TV3 had 49,000 to 65,000 from 20 to 12
    while
    UTVi had 56,000 to 98,000 from 20 to 12

Nearly a reversal from previous weeks.

Looks like UTVi are beating TV3.

Really depends on Audience share which is only put up monthly.

Also TV3 are set to get their highest audience levels ever and also their lowest audiences ever this year. I'd expect TV3 to have at least 5 programmes in top twenty most watch shows in 2015. I'd say it will be the first year Coronation Street won't make the list.

    Thursday:
    TV3
    9:00 Big Brother Final 224,700 (15.96%)

Rumours are the celebrity version will begin end of August, and runs for around 4 weeks. This one should do well for TV3 if the celebs are good or if there is any Irish interest in it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,641 ✭✭✭✭Elmo

TV3 will see major increases with CBB, X-Factor and RWC2015 (Aug to Dec).

UTV Ireland should expect to see in jump in November and December with I'm A Celeb.... with both seeing drops in December and January as has been the case most years.

The Chase is doing well on UTV Ireland at 6pm. Possibly moving their news back an hour has given the show a lift.

Surprised 3e haven't tried to attack it with The Chase repeats at the same time. In May, their 5pm repeats were getting around 40,000. But hard to know how Tipping Point is doing for them there.
