If Plutonium is to be included then there is a case to be made for Cerium and
Palladium. Let us not forget Tellurium.

Not consecutive on the periodic table.

A nice easy one for my friend Polly, and in a similar vein:

In the game of Scrabble which letter of the alphabet is worth ten points in the English version but only one point in the Polish version?

Correct. That didn't last long. Were you reading the Guardian over Christmas? Or playing scrabble with Lech and Stanislaus?

No, :D I just thought of the frequency of weird combinations of consonants in Polish - almost as complicated as Double Dutch! :D

Let me have a think for a few minutes, I'll come up with something.

Is a phonendonoscope the name of an ear trumpet?

It's so much easier to answer than to think of a question.

    Quick one....

What is the main constituent of Pewter?

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 79,585 Mod ✭✭✭✭New Home

    Silver? Or Lead?

    Can't remember...

: Oh dear! It's an old London slang for a private lady part. :o

    Or a Prison

Or literally 'a hollow way' or tunnel???

    No idea really.

Tut, I never heard about the lady part. I think you made that one up :D
Yes its a prison but I am referring to holloway with a small h. You are right about hollow way, but meaning what? It is quite specific, if slightly obscure.

    Definition
    Holloway
    (Adult / Slang)
or: holloway , Britishism for the ******; usage, based on a London place name and on the implication of a hollow way, dates back to the 1860s

Shame on you bringing the tone down. ;)

just a thought really but when the allies landed in France the had trouble with the roads being lower than the surrounding fields so could a hollow way be a lower lane than the surrounding countryside?
