I'm trying to think of the meaning of the word autochthonous. I think maybe it's an ecclesiastic term, something akin to autonomous, maybe meaning having its own head. Is it used in relation to some Orthodox communities e.g. the Albanian or Estonian Orthodox who are not fully fledged? Just a guess.

P.S. So, does chthonic mean of the head?

He has a few plants named after him but this person has towns, cities, and geographical features named as well.
