oh i get that. but i do remember at least some knowing looks between cersei and lancel if not an actual conversation concerning the wine that robert was drinking.

Yup, I remember Ned being worried that he was surrounded by Lannisters aswell

I liked the opening scene with the witch/prophet and Cersei

And so Robert had 17 bastards, some man for one man

He had 20 bastards, Cersei had 3 children, but Robert wasn't the biological father.

I haven't read the books but recently I happened upon something that seems fairly important from the books but wasn't in this episode.

Maggy the Frog tells Cersei that the "valonqar" will kill her.

Have the writers explained why they dropped it? Or am I completely wrong and it is mentioned in the episode?

wrong thread. this is the thread for no book discussion.

I thought I was in that other thread - clicked the wrong link in my haste. ;)

Although it doesn't really make a difference since people who haven't read the book can still confirm whether or not the episode contains a mention of the "valonqar" and whether the writers have said why it was dropped.

we know nothing of these "books" you speak of.

Like I said above it doesn't matter because those who have not read the books can still confirm whether or not this piece of dialogue is featured in the show and whether or not the writers have commented on why they left it out.

It really isn't that hard to get your head around it.
