So if a house is deemed as a family home for a child the child has no rights whatsoever?
Thanks for the advice anyway I just wanted to make sure that I needed to speak to a solicitor before I went shelling out the fees.

The Family Home Protection Act does not give ownership rights to either parent, it is primarily to stop one parent from selling the house without the permission of the other and stems from the fact that when it was enacted, the wife couldn't own property and it was the husband who was the sole owner and mortgage holder on the family home.

    Speak to a solr.
