Nice evening yesterday an been enjoying going through different rounds but the remingtons are my bullets now so went out yesterday for an hour and managed these two.
First one was 89 yards and took it freehand. Headshot
Second was at 145 yards and had to wait till he popped his head up as all I could see was his back. Soon as his head popped up it dropped him in back of the head.
.223 has made Shiite of the rabbits but with head shots as it should be it's a great gun for longe range rabbits with head shots.

    NICE SHOOTING.

Maybe try Remy UMC FMJ sometime? No need for headshots, v little meat damage.

Was told there is a danger of the fmj going straight through the body and carrying on.?

    That's exactly what happens.

Not a good idea near houses.

You'll get splatter from headshots with HP's, not as bad as FMJ's unless neckshot thro' meat only.

    Good hunting.

Shot one at 137 other night with the vmax and the rabbit looked perfect but when I opened him up was just jelly on the inside

Some nice shooting there. If it's cooking tips then look at the "Game Recipe" thread.

Normally I would whip up few 'tatoes and stuff the inside but I was starving and just wanted rabbit ASAP
    Tasted lovely all the same.

Looks quite tasty. Had some rabbit myself tonight, lots around at the moment, quick and easy to have ready. Tastier than usual too....https://www.dropbox.com/s/huvc5b52gfnat61/2015-04-13%2001.26.36.jpg?dl=0

Another one from 156 yards . He was literally spiralled out enjoying the sun and on a day like today I can't blame him :) I must've pulled it as I hit him in the neck but was aiming for the head.
Still more food for the pot.
Il have em for me lunch tomoro.

Bagged this lad anyway 80 yard neck shot and funny enough I shot him free hand as he seen me and nearly got home. I wouldn't of had time to get down on ground.

Back of the neck was happy out at freehand and low light
    Rabbits everywhere but easily spooked.
No rabbits about last year as foxes were about but none anymore
