We have seen plenty of times before where hype has outweighed the actual experience (Bioshock Infinite as an example)

I was only kinda poking fun, but I know exactly what you mean!
It'll be a 10 or close too from a lot of publications, I'd imagine.
Then post launch, we'll start to see to cracks in the polish

Does anyone know for sure when Smyths take the money for pre-orders? It says on their website that you're only charged when you collect it but some people here have said that they charge when they send the text saying it's in stock. I think I'm going to chance Supervalu on Friday but if I can leave my Smyths pre-order as a backup plan I will.

Are you getting it sent to your house or have you parcal motel set up?

if its sent on thursday,it'll arrive in parcel motel belfast on friday and you can pick it up on Saturday..

I have a xbone and RDR2 bundle on order with them,
They said they will ship it Friday for delivery on monday.
Bank holiday Monday :rolleyes:

They "check" the full amount on your credit/debit card when they are putting the pre order together for you. This will probably be on Thursday, during the day, as they are doing a midnight launch. It's normally after close of business on the day before release, when there's no midnight launch!

So, I've bought RDR and an Xbox One X is on the way. However, I'm holding off on buying a 4k TV until black Friday.

I'm on gardening leave at the minute and don't start a new job until November 11th.

Play the **** out of it for two weeks when I've no work or wait for the 4K glory when I'll be back at work?!

was getting it sent to the house but I've cancelled the order and reserved a copy for collection in Smyths.
On a bum note, my broadband is Imagine LTE with a 20gb a day limit....it's gonna take a while to download that update patch Might leave it running overnight

Highly doubt it, black ops 4 was the exception because the game had to he downloaded and other stores were doing the same so not a hope of a Thursday night release, FIFA had lads queuing on the day an hour before the store opened in a few places for it.

No red dead 2 will have the whole game on the (two) discs playable straight away after its installed from the disc, think theres only a 3gb patch or something thats not mandatory.

I have a 240 Mb connection, so not too concerned about the download. I would obviously prefer to get the game for €49 instead of €69 though.

Yep, 1st is a data disc to install it and the 2nd is the authentication disc needed to play once it's installed.

Thanks didnt know about the two disks i've purposely been avoiding the thread incase of spoilers. In terms of day one patch size has anything been released yet? I dont have the quickest internet so be a pain sitting there waiting for a monster patch to download

Sean Macguire is another one they have in the gang! And i think one of the journalists mentioned an irish gang of some sort one of the rivals to dutches so plenty of Irish presence!

Map has leaked.

I'll spoiler my thoughts on it:

It's about 3 times the size of the RDR map. And a bit smaller than GTA V but will obviously feel much bigger since you're on horseback. Includes two thirds of old map - all of New Austin and West Elizabeth but no Neuvo Paraiso. A lot of people angry about lack of Mexico, especially since it will be visible from New Austin with only a small river in places stopping you from crossing over. I'll be shocked if it doesn't eventually become accessible to online players when multiplayer launches. Great way of teasing single players.
