    Crystal ball.

If bluetongue hits Ireland I can't see many shippers still in business and heavy bull's are now very specialised so there won't be much competition ringside.

If they are 500kgs commit to finishing yourself or let them off now.

After been to a few calf sales recently and the prices calves are making at the moment is eye-watering, good quality continentals ranging from 600 to 900 euro, Angus and Hereford calves 500 to 600 and above if good ones, I see 500 euro been given for very middling calves (dirt), and I could count on one hand the amount of calves making below 400 euro, it's dearer they are getting week on week with the glut over, I reared a dozen bought in February (a mix of ch, bb sim and bwh averaging 330 euro) and was hoping to add to them but fecking hell, they're up 300 a piece since then, it's nuts!
