Well everyone is over there today getting zeroed up, and having a practice day after their trip to Dublin yesterday. The whole thing kicks off tomorrow at 9 am and will probably continue on till around 3 pm.

The Emerald shoot will kick things off tomorrow with the Creedmoor taking place over the weekend and Monday. Not sure what displays are going to be there but with the likes of Edi above going i'm sure there'll be a few. The weather is supposed to hold for the most part but might be an idea to bring both a jacket in case of a turn in the weather and also a little sunscreen as it's easy to get sunburned.

    Good first day.

The wind was subtle in the morning but really got up by early afternoon. Made for some really tricky shooting in the late afternoon. The dust did no one any favours and for once a short shower of rain would have been welcome.

Got scolded again even though there was no sun. Lesson well and truly learned. :D

A few pics of the FTR guys, F-Open, 1000 yard firing point and the flags that were raised representing the countries taking part.

First day of the Creedmoor today. The day began with Mr John Sigler firing the traditional opening shot, this time with a "Howth" Mauser.

The rifle is a Mauser Model 1871. The name, "Howth Mauser", comes from the rifle having been smuggled in via Howth Harbour back in 1914.

Onto the comp. Conditions were tricky at first and quite hard towards the end of the day. Both teams seemed to cope well and the wind coaches had their work cut out for them. After a long day i never got the scores, but will update as soon as i can (possibly tomorrow).

A few pictures of the teams on the firing line.

And of course Tony "on patrol" (:D) on the firing line

Lastly, and by no means least (yet somewhat off topic) if you positively, absolutely have to arrive in style. Accept no substitutes:
