Is this why KG-12 is the best copper remover?

    Interesting report.

I use KG 12, and KG 1 but also have used others including MPro-7, wipe out and Forest Foam. I always found it to be a good cleaner. The patches would come out wet and dirty with blue/green tinting until they eventually ran wet and clean. I did not see wipe out on the list. Would be interested to see how it compares.

Easy enough to do the test yourself. Just follow the same method they used.

Test results show KG-12 is the only solvent that will remove the copper from your barrel.
Bought a bottle of KG-12 when I bought the big bore. Works great.

Bronze brushes aren't much of a fan of KG-12 though...

I always wash my bronze brushes under the tap straight after running them through the barrel a few times with the K12. Then dry them off with a paper towel.

Down there for dancing FISMA :rolleyes:

But by all accounts you don't need a bronze brush if the K12 is doing it's job. Just use a patch, bristle brush or mop to wet out the barrel with K12 and then leave to work away. Then patch out with clean patches until patches are dry and clean.

I never use a bronze brush. As said above if the solvent can do it's job it's unnecessary. If stuck i use a nylon brush to aggitate the fouling.

Erm, no. Not that interested in it.

I've used forest foam, and then bore scoped the barrel. No traces of copper, blue/green tint, etc. I mean spotless. The same goes for the KG. Never tried it after using the Wipeout.

I would be pretty much a novice when it come to cleaning rifle barrels, but I got some of KG's SF-112 which removes both copper and carbon in one go. Seems to do the job well, though I've never used anything else, so can't make any comparisons.
