    Would I get a deer license now so I can apply for a new centrefire, or will they wait till they renew them later this year?

    No, the season is over now they will send them out in a few months etc...

    Seeing as I'm getting this gun for deer shooting and target shooting down the road, will me writing a letter to the super telling him I won't have the deer license until July/August do the job? Or will he just say wait and apply when I get it?

    The NPWS can process your application for the deer license and if it all checks out they can issue you a letter saying that come issuing time you will be granted the license.

    Provide this with your application for the rifle and you should be good to go.


    One thing i find amusing is as soon as the "season" is over you have to wait until August before a new applicant can get his/her deer license. The reason i find it amusing is the deer license covers all deer even the fabled Muntjac and lasts from September 1st to August 30th. So technically if you apply for a deer license it should be processed within the same season it's applied for, and not the next.

    Just sayin'.
