They say a fanboi leopard never changes his spots:p

I was never a vw fanboi to start of with. Actually if anything the car I'm getting I would be a lot of of a fanboi off well maybe that's strong but I always liked them as a brand from a young age.

Tbh I was afraid that if I bought another golf now that it would be set in stone that I just buy golfs you here the story's lads on there 8th and 10th golf or vw.

So I went a bit left field. Anyway I'm saying no more ive said that much now it wouldn't be hard to guess and sure that would ruin the suprise :pac:

    Astra
    Focus
    Golf

My car history above hardly points to me being a vag fan. That is about as random as it gets tbh. But I was afraid of falling into a habit. Changing a mk5 for a mk5 golf with a different engine wouldn't be a great idea even if they are a great car might aswell have a proper change.

I suppose certain models that hardly makes you a fanboi.

On another note it's funny how when you sell a car but are keeping it for a few days you almost forgot you sold it. I've been fairly busy in work and just driving it as normal never really thought about having my final days with it but was getting diesel there tonight and standing at the pump it hit me that it would be the last time I ever put fuel in it.

No put 35 euro in it more devastated about handing it over with the needle sitting between 3/4 and full than seeing the car go but I told him Id put diesel in it. Kind of fitting I sell it on with over 3/4 of tank when that's the way I got it. I'll probably collect my next car and there won't be a drain of diesel in it :)

I don't think he'd go 1.6 hdi again, so that rules a lot of stuff in that segment out.

I'd say he got a megane III 1.5 dci

    Maybe :)
Ah tbh I drove loads of petrols and thought they were grand and would of bought one of I could have got a car that suited my needs but for insurance reasons I am trying to keep engine size down and just ended with a sh!t choice of engine. Plus my driving suits diesels loads of 150-200 km trips without start /stopping and I don't do that much city driving short trips.

I'm gona guess its also french

No comment you will all have to wait till Friday :)

Used to see that in one of the car parks in UCD. It's fairly clean alright.

Getting 2 new Hankook Ventus for the front on Friday, €220 all in with €50 off, only about €5/10 difference from Oponeo, happy with that, will pretty much have 4 new tyres on it now. Oil and Filter Service next week then I think.

I've been listening to too much banjo music - as nice and all as those Saabs are, I'm drawn to the viper striped pickup in the background...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,972 ✭✭✭Chris_Heilong

Yeah, I knew someone would notice that:D

Does the €220 include the €50 off..? Those tyres are very good for the money.

I'll be needing tyres for the GTV in the next few weeks. I want to go with Michelin PS3's this time. €390 delivered to the door.

They seem like a good tyre choice looking at tyre reviews: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Michelin/Pilot-Sport-3-PS3.htm the price is very good too.

So my 740 failed the NCT today, which was expected. There's a concrete ramp at my workplace which causes nasty front end noises when driving over it.

Both ball joints on both front lower control arms are in bad shape, have replacement Lemforder arms on the way already from Mister-Auto.

Anyone know how long they typically take to deliver? Says 3 days once posted, but how long does it take to get them posted :D

Heard that they can have extensive delays as often the stuff is shipped from France. Ordered from them before and it wasn't too bad I don't think.

Your 740 deserves to pass the test..!!

    Bummer. :(

Yeh, the tester was sitting in it outside the reception area, puts the window down with a big smile on his face and two other testers went out for a look, opening the doors and looking in the back etc.

Probably sick of humdrum stuff all day long!
