I spend a lot of time on the internet and use a wide varied amount of sites. I also do random searches on the most obscure items which taken in conjunction with each other would look extremely odd to say the least, if not totally fkd up .

Is this a weird thing to think about...I often think that God forbid I went missing or something and someone forensically examined my Internet that either they'd get nothing (except weirdness!) Or that it actually would be too big in man hours for one person to sift through and they'd have to bring in three other people to assist.

    :D

Don't worry, Google store all of that information anyway!

That has to be the greatest pointless waste of time. Storing my history....it is remarkably boring and non eventful

More serious question cheating partner suspicion aside....why would any bother wanting to know your search history???

Private browsing sorts out most of it. I wouldnt be looking up anything illegal or too weird but Im sure my file at the NSA is flagged. Still stuff I probably would want others to know.

I did click on a link to 4chan before, I then closed the page, went into my history and deleted it.
Incognito Mode is for private browsing only. You can rest assured that when you cross the window out, Chrome will not keep any files or cookies associated with the browsing on your computer. However, if you are at work and using the incognito mode to access pages that are not permitted, your activity can still be traced and your bosses will know exactly what pages you are looking at. Therefore, when we talk about safe browsing, we may mean different things. The other thing to take into account is that the incognito mode does not work that efficiently when we are signed into the Google account or the Google Cloud service.

Many people are using the incognito mode just because they believe that it is more private and secure. While incognito allows you to secretly browse the internet without leaving any traces behind, however, it would not be correct to call it entirely secure browsing. Google Chrome may prevent Chrome from logging in your browsing record but it cannot stop the router, your operating system or the websites too from logging the fact that you visited that website. Incognito mode does not hide your IP address which means that your location, your browser, operating system as well as your own address is not hidden by using Google chrome in this mode.

The only positive side of using the incognito mode offered by Google Chrome is that your history is not visible. However, that is only on the browser and it does not defend you from any breach or any rundown of various types of security threats. The only way to make sure that your browsing is secure over the internet is by using Virtual Private Network or VPN.

This is why I made sure my girlfriend wasnt a network admin.

In work, I use IE for personal stuff, and chrome for work stuff, chrome is my default.

So if someone comes to my desk and asks me to look at something, I go to chrome, then they don't see the boards tabs I have open.

I've mine set up nicely for work. They use IE as default :confused::confused::confused:

I somehow managed to set up firefox for myself so the only way to access it on my computer is to type it into the search bar and click enter. :D

Course anytime someone wants to show me something online IE automatically opens with sweet FA on it, takes about 20 mins for it to do anything and I'm met with stares of ummmmmmm do you ever use this?:confused::confused::confused::confused:

What if, after we die, our google search history is released as a public record:eek::eek::eek:

You know, like that show Who Do You Think You Are?

Maybe in 100 years, your grandchildren will be able to track your internet activity in detail.

What's so embarrassing about porn? Most people look at it. I'm not embarrassed to let you see my search history of a husband recording his missus getting it from some bull...

You should see all the mini windows on Chrome when you click 'New Tab'

    You won't care. You'll be dead. :P

I won't be, obviously, because I intend to be the first human being to live a thousand years.

I only delete my browsing history if I'm loaning the machine to someone....and even then, I'm not that fussed. I don't much care who checks where I'm browsing......which probably makes me boring.

When I was a young'un (around 15/16) I used to watch teh porn late at night. Used to be at 1 or 2 am.

PC got a virus. There was HD pictures of dildos in asses and wet vadges everywhere. I pretended I never saw it and parents got it fixed.

Then I used to watch teh porn on the new pc. Used to delete browsing history. THEN I realised about 6 - 9 months later when I typed in "y" into the address bar all these youporn sites I visited showed up. I think the 'rents defo saw them. Embarassing.

Same here. That was the worst.

We'd all be watching tv in the sitting room in the evening and next thing I'd see, out of the corner of my eye, some pop-up gif with two lesbians scissoring like the clappers. Mad dash to turn off the PC whilst attracting least suspicion…

I was seeing a guy for a while, and I had my suspicions about him, so when I was at his place, I was on Facebook on his computer, and I ended up "accidentally" going into his history.
well .... wierdo and sick perv doesn't explain it. I was outta there like a bullet.
so internet history has its advantages!!!

That reminds me of when a friend of mine decided to go to some page which involved a woman called Aine and huge horse cock according to my history. I still cringe at what some people in my class thought I was into.

    question on VPN.

I find with VPN some sites things like drop downs etc... don't always function.
    Is it just me?
