Father Dougal McGuire. O'Hanlon manages to perfectly capture the character. Even when he's inert, he manages to convey this sense of perpetual confusion about the world around him.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

    What about a comedy mash-up?

We have Moss for IT crowd, with Sheldon from Big Bang also featuring Dwight Schrute for The Office and a few other what you'd call oddball characters that you like, throw them all in the same show and see how they act around each other! Sounds good in my mind anyway, a SUPER COMEDY!

    Father Dougal McGuire.

The scene where him and Fr. Ted are in the hospital after Fr. Stone got struck by lighting is probably my favourite comedy scene of all time.

Dougal: Father Stone's been in there a long time hasn't he? Do you think he's dead?
    Ted: Probably doing tests.
Dougal: What sort of tests? General knowledge?

    Ted: God I hate hospitals.
Dougal: Do you ever notice it's usually sick people who end up in hospitals?

Dougal: Who would have thought being hit by lightening would land you in hospital?
Ted: What? What are you talking about? Of course it can land you in hospital
Dougal: Well it's not usually serious is it Ted. I mean, I was hit by lightening a few times and I never had to go to hospital.
Ted: Yes Dougal, but you're different from most people. All that happened to you was that balloons kept sticking to you.

Dougal: Did you ever see that film, Ted, where your man has his head transplanted onto a fly, and the fly's head was transplanted onto the man?
Ted: Oh, yes... what was it called...?
Dougal: "Out Of Africa", I think. Anyway, your man has the head of the fly and he's chasing his wife all over the place and she's hiding the jam and everything so he won't get stuck in it...
Ted: I'll have to stop you there, Dougal.
    Dougal: Yes, Ted?
Ted: No reason. I just have to stop you.

    Trigger

Trigger was class one of my favorites is when Cassandra finds out she was pregnant and there all talking about names for the baby.

Trigger the eejit turns around and says " I think they should name the baby Rodney after Dave" his blank expression gets me everytime.

Steve Carells Michael Scott is great too, and I have to say I prefer Niles to Frazier for his many neuroses and petty snobberies. :)

Both Blackadder and Ron Swanson have already been mentioned

I have nothing further to contribute

Charlie Kelly might deserve a mention though

Have you seen him in episodes? Thoughts? I liked it myself.

I'm surprised of all the OFAH mentions no one has said Boycie, what a character he was!

    Frank Spencer.
Rick (Rik Mayall) in the Young Ones.

    I loved Trigger in OFAH.

Always take care of your broom.
This old broom has had 17 new heads and 14 new handles.

Watched him in The Old Guys with Clive Swift as well.
