I was hoping to buy an Olympic weightlifting set just to do some work at him on days I can't make it into the club, anyone know of a reasonably priced good quality set they could recommend?
Will be just used for snatch, clean and jerk and variations

    D8 fitness for sure.

If you're getting a bar to snatch / clean / jerk / drop - get a good quality one. Most of the "olympic" bars you see are complete dog **** and arent' designed to be dropped from overhead.

Try to get a decent platform too to protect the weights and bar more.

2 sheets of plywood laid left to right, then a sheet in the middle laid front to back, and rubber on each side to fill in the remainder.

    Thanks for the reply,

I was looking at the strength shop website and they have a package for ~€1250 delivered (Elite bar, 140kg bumper plates, technique plates), it is outside my budget but would be able to get them in a few months, will check out D8 fitness and see if they can give me a similar package with a nice price.

do you think I could get a decent set-up at the €750-1000 mark?
