I know where it is. So I will watch the process unfold over millions of years.

    Stop it.

I took it to be a hint that this is a location in either an area with unique features that took millions of years to form or its a location near some ancient fossils like dinosaur remains.

Is it somewhere in the southern United States?

No not going to give region or country just yet.

It is only a few hours for Gods sake.

Ahh second image is Red Deer River, Drumheller, Alberta, Canada so first one is 1 Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology.

It was the ring bell for service sign that helped!

    Well done.
It is Drumheller and it's Dinosaur Museum in the Alberta Badlands.

That is the Berlot Ferry on the Red Deer River not far from the town itself.

I was half thinking of putting in a pic of the largest dinosaur in the world from the town but thought it too easy.

Also fair dues to M.T. Cranium who recognised this straight away but did not say it.
