Some where along HWY 395. Those mountains look very like the Sierra Nevada range.

Long flat straight roads tree lined with mountains could be the likes of cariboo country in BC, Canada.

I believe that type of gas station is only found in western Canada (mainly Alberta or BC) so that might help someone narrow it down.

That's the Talbot Arm Motel, caf?, RV Park and station.
Located in Destruction Bay, Yukon on the Alaska highway.

I thought looking at the pic it would be much further South although I suppose looking at the trees they look a bit stunted.

I know where it is. So I will watch the process unfold over millions of years.

I took it to be a hint that this is a location in either an area with unique features that took millions of years to form or its a location near some ancient fossils like dinosaur remains.

Is it somewhere in the southern United States?
