    Hi folks,

Father's old bus ( trusty 2000 focus 1.6 Ghia ) has recently started to throw random lights and I am just hoping that a Ford enthusiast might be able to shed some light on the issue.

    Cheers

Not a Ford enthusiast but i've owned a good few over the years and currently have a Mondeo and Fiesta in the drive way.

The Fiesta has the same issue. Handbrake light comes on now and then, but the ABS has gone from intermittent to permanently on. I checked fuses, relays, etc. and all were okay, but changed anyway. I went to a local garage and had them clear the faults. A few weeks later the ABS came back on. I then stripped the wheels and checked the sensors on the hubs. The back ones were a pain in the a** to get off, but other than a good cleaning and checking for fraying or damage i don't have the electronic or technical expertise to properly check the sensors are working. I intend to go back, check the faults, and have them cleared again to see iff this resolved the issue. If not then the only solution is to replace them, but i'm hesitant to start changing parts randomly without having an idea of which area the problem lies in.

Currently i've finished doing an "overhaul" of my Vectra, have a little work to do on the Mondeo and then i'll focus (no pun intended) on the Fiesta.

I realise this is of no help at all, but just gives you an idea of where to start looking.

Could be just low brake fluid or brake pads worn. Check these first.

front pads are fine but rear shoes are definitely worn. Could this be a cause?
