Ha, here is a trivial pursuit thing re names for ya....

There is a girl's name. And if anyone knows a girl/woman with this name you can near enough guarantee their DOB to within two or three years.

    It begins with a C.

    Anyone have a guess?

(it's not recent, but not too distant past either, maybe a Mammy's name??)
Caoimhe? I quite like that name.

    Your name is Phyllis?

No but close! Starts with 'Phil'! :)

My name is actually in the downloadable spreadsheet in the article, just not in the drop down menu for the most popular names. Took me a while to notice!

Found a couple of names that have only appeared in the last couple of years:
11 "Arya"s have joined us - clearly Game of Thrones fans.
    I can't explain the 5 "TJ"s though!

I always wanted to call my daughter Arya. I read it in a book when I was in my early teens (not the GoT books though) and I fell in love with it. I'd never heard it before and for years I never heard or read it again. I don't think I'd call my child that now though. Ever since GoT I've noticed it being used a lot and now it's no longer interesting. To me anyway!

It was never ever in fashion. It's an old lady name - I was named after my nana!

    Claudia?
    Cathy?
    Colletee?

    C'monnn!

I had a son in 2010, it says there was nobody born with his name that year. Strange!

If there were 3 or less children registered with any given name, its not put on the chart. Only if 4 or more are registered with the same name, is a record made. Strange but it's there somewhere in the article.

I've only ever met 1 other Aodh and now it looks like there could be a few more of us :D

No more acceptance of terrible pronunciation of our incredibly simple to pronounce name.

OK OK, I'll kind of take you out of your misery.

Lia Lia got it in post 128, but spelled it incorrectly.

    Keep going!!

    Same!

Hate my name. Though according to that list it's still of low popularity but possibly starting to make a comeback. I have noticed it turning up a couple of times on US tv and films recently too.

    Colette.

My name was never in fashion I don't think. I don't know any other people that's got my full first name.

    Yes, it's Colette.

If you know anyone called this, there is a good chance they were born in the mid fifties. A member of my family is one and was born in 1957. Anyone I came across with that name was of a similar age.

It must have been high fashion back in the day!

Still getting 40+ registrations every year in and around, but it went into such decline after the 60's that they mentioned it in the article...Catherine, not Mary.

Neither my name nor my sister's is on that list. Only met one other person with my name and never heard of anyone with my sisters name, and mine is a name from a song back in the 50's and her name was in the title of a movie a few years back.

    Dallas?

Sorry for about the incorrect spelling! I was a bit tipsy. Nice name!

Edit: How on earth did I think that was the correct spelling.

Yes I like the name Colette too. Reminds me of France and the writer Colette. Although Colette was her surname!

It has gone right out of fashion now though, but I think it's Chic!

Scrotes like to give their kids surnames as first names nowadays.

Examples include Harrison, Brady, Mason, Taylor, Lennon.

I hate my name. It's such a granny name. No one ever had the same name as me but it's pretty common in the older generations.

23 poor children were given that name in 2013.

Peaked in 2009 with 225 and been gradually declining since.

Always particularly liked my name, despite being fairly common.

Yeh seems to be the case with mine too.

Kathleen? You can shorten it to Kathy or Kath, which are lovely though IMO.

    Jaysus.

Actually, scrolling through that would probably put me in an awfully bad mood.
