Seems like he needs something to do with his hands since he gave up the cigs. He ought to try vaping.

Are you angry because you know you have to inhale chemicals into your body, because you can't deal with some little withdrawal symptoms.

No. Are you angry that you have to troll the internet because you can't deal with life?

Smoking increases stress did you ever consider quitting, I found the allen carr book very helpful.

My own fault here , I'm on boards long enough to know where the ignore button is .

I haven't smoked a cigarette in 9 months thanks to vaping, I suppose big tobacco has me right where they want me?

Yes I did, so I did. I'm finding the vaping very helpful.

Actually they do, with the amount of money these companies have it won't be long until Phillip Morris and co have a monopoly over the e cigarette trade.

You find pumping your body with unknown chemicals helpful? Every man to his own I suppose.

I understand that, yes, it's because there is still nicotine in the vapour that there are concerns about ecigarettes. But for me it's more than that: I just don't want to have to sit in a café or other public place with warm vapour from someone else's lungs floating around me. Research has already shown that the warm air from hand driers in public toilets collects all the germs going around the room, making them far less healthy to use for drying than paper tissue, and warm vapour seems similar to me. How would people like it if I blew my cold germs all over them because I felt I needed to do it? I wouldn't imagine I would be very welcome anywhere.

Weve all been down this road before, to this day there are still people defending tobacco and refuse to believe the ugly truth.

Like many on here I have on numerous occasions , jealously and irrationally defended my addiction, but not this time!

Just like tobacco, i strongly suspect that this report is just the first of many that will prove that sucking these chemicals into you will kill you, and I,m tired of lying to myself.

As much as we dont want it to be, you just know that this is true, and to hell with it, Im stopping now!

Yes, but if we could see people's breath whilst they're normally exhaling we'd all want to wear gas masks.

Its the seeing of the vapour that's the problem really.

The second hand nicotine vapour won't harm you, there's not even any evidence that first hand vapour does!

But you mightnt like the actual look of it.

I strongly suspect that this report doesn't and the educated opinions of others released around the same time would tend to agree .

wallywhittle is on a two week holiday for not reading the charter. Folks in here, while perfectly willing to discuss vaping and it's positives, negatives do not have to deal with recommendations for alternative means to stop smoking since vaping is a choice not an alternative to cold turkey and so on. Try the parent forum for that. Also again while most of us here would like more and even more research into the effects of vaping I think we would mostly agree that we have made a conscious choice to swap the very real and proven risk of smoking vs this alternative. Perma ban if this continues on your return. Folks don't engage with trolls.

    Well, we'll all die eventually.

You keep talking about the chemicals in e-liquid, but at least we KNOW what's in them - propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin.

Nobody is claiming it's 100% safe and healthy.

It sure as hell is a LOT better than smoking, though, and that's why people switch to vaping.

Since I quit smoking in favour of vaping, I have no constant cough, my lung capacity has improved (it was awful for a 25 year old previously), my skin is clearing up and I don't get a burning in my chest/throat when I exercise.

So, while vaping may not be 100% safe (what is, though?), for me, it's a hell of a lot better than smoking, and my gp and couple of specialists agree.

It includes references and a list of researchers , apparently the constituents combine to make formaldehyde , a grade 1 carcinogenic , and 15 times more likely to give you terminal cancer than cigarettes !!

For all those who have concerns with the proposed bill or those who simply want to tell their story, Senator Powers facebook page is here. She is active on the page.

The government hasn't made any decision. The Bill is not a government bill, and it hasn't been discussed in the Seanad or Dáil yet, never mind been voted upon.

Vaping is stupid - almost as stupid as smoking. E-cigarettes may not poison users with as many toxic substances as cigarettes, but they still provide nicotine, and should be banned for that reason alone

I hope the bill sponsored by Averil Power and John Crown is debated and enacted as soon as possible.

nicotine is a drug which he is addicted to,

I'm addicted to nicotine, so what? afraid my nicotine addiction might be contagious?
I like vaping, its a pleasure in life, why not ban caffine while you are at it? or deodorant?

The problem with do-gooders like you is you have spent all your time kicking smokers around and now you think its ok to kick people who vape around.

I doubt he will, the number of low post count trolls showing up on this thread is concerning. A suspicious person might start to think Averill has a cyber army!
Nah! Not enough brains in the entire Senate to come up with that, let alone in Averills I'll informed head.
Prof. Crown on the other hand.......

I recon at this stage im addicted to caffiene, go with out my coffe
fix and im like a bear with a sore head.should we ban that.

People are addicted to alchohol. lets ban that as well.

The proposed bill is just a decision by two Senators to get some publicity and guess what its worked.

Im recently new to vaping(since november 2014). Been off the smoke foe 4 years but found myself being drawn back to having a crafty fag decided to get a e cig set up. Since than have not even looked or had any interest in having a cigerette. Sometime I do wonder what are the effects of vaping, is it really as harmless as people say. Am i vaping more that I was smoking???, all thoughts that go through my head. I for one would welcome an independent study that would put the question beyond doubt. But when you look at it, it seem everything we consume is deemed bad for you, so your screwed any way.

As for vaping in a public place, I have never pulled out the e cig inside in the pub and puffed away and I never would either.

    My two cents.
