Nop, I didn't see FD either, think she only showed up for the flapjacks after.

You will have to come and visit St Anne's properly, it's a beautiful park, full of curiosities. And best parkrun in ireland of course too :p

Well done today on the PB!!!

ha! not just there with them but roaring at you to catch the guys ahead!!! as aquinn would say, *sake* :D, super report, and well done again on your PB and beating your goal handsomely! pity about the congestion, heard a few others with similar complaints. You should send your feedback to the organisers, constructive criticism should always be welcomed.

Yes - will consider. Don't quite know how to solve it tho, maybe a couple of waves of the start. Easiest would be to just have the entire Howth Road. It's not just annoyance, it's also a little dangerous with the traffic coming from the other side.

Pity I never got to talk to you - wanted to ask how the prep for the Wicklow Mountains Half is going?!

Hmm, the FD mystery deepens. :D I actually asked her how she had done, but I got "the look"!

Will come back to St Anne's for sure, but I think y'all should DART it to Shanganagh first at some stage, for what would be my flapjack debut.

Maybe it's the hills of Cabinteely that are putting people off? :) Although, its good training for a certain hilly HM coming up in March...

Bring the Northsiders, I'll bring the flapjacks!

All you need is a leap-card! DART it down to Shankill, it's a 10 minute (slow) jog to the start... Or, I can provide transfer for the travelling party!

Not great :) managed the HM distance only once since DCM and that wasn't a pretty sight. I hope to pick it up a little over the next few weeks. Another good reason to do Shanganagh at some stage is that you can see the Wicklow Mountains as you're running it. That must count for something :D

Thank you Mrs Mc - yes, I enjoyed it a lot. Nice set-up for a race.

Looks like we missed each other. I was scanning but so was another volunteer, but I think the bad weather might have put you off? :)

No, I just woke quite early and decided I'd get my run done as I'd alot going on. If I was coming I would have asked about for you rather than leave it to chance.
I'll be up a good bit over the coming year so will do it sometime.

Just catching up here :o Didn't realise you had run such a blinder....you seemed a bit disappointed after?! Or was that battle weary? Anyway well done, hope you got the mojo back now :)

    Week of Feb 1st:

Mon Feb 1: sweet nada, basking in Raheny glory.

    Tue Feb 2: lunchtime run to Cabinteely Park: 9.2km @ 5:13 min/km [5.7M @ 8:24 min/mi].
Lovely out IIRC, ran with my DCM buddy Conor and we didn't watch the pace.

    Wed Feb 3
    : too busy

    Thu Feb 4: short lunchtime run: 6.8km @ 5:23 min/km [4.2M @ 8:40 min/mi].
Ran with two slower colleagues, one being my "sub 2-hours HM coaching project" (that isn't going too well, but that's for another log). Ran nice and slow and there was dozens of runners out. We kept being overtaken and towards the end, this dude overtakes and I could swear its Kennyg71. That was enough for me to leave my buddies and finish faster (hence average pace much higher than easy pace). I overtook y'r man again and it wasn't GK either.

Fri Feb 5: Pilates. Very tough session (but better than the blasted circuits).

    Sat Feb 6
: Volunteered at the Shanganagh Parkrun which despite the weather had ~120 in attendance. The rain stayed away apart from a helpful 20 minutes of lashing just before the start. Despite the wind cutting us about in half, all runners seemed in great spirits. I discovered a fondness for token-sorting although it wasn't helped by hands numb from the cold. Was on the lookout for Ed Mc but I think he didn't run it.

    Sun Feb 7
    : Hilly LSR: 15.3 min/km [9.5M @ 9:12 min/mi]
Windy (and cold) but dry, lovely run around Carrickgologan. I thought I had better get some hill-running in before the WW Mnt HM in a couple of weeks. I really enjoyed the scenery, I was just gobsmacked by the amount of rubbish that was being left along the sides of the road. Seemed much worse than usual. Coming down Puck's Castle Road, I found myself chasing 5 girls on horses, which provided the necessary distractions.

Since the two chilly weekend outings, I have a massive cold coming. The sound effects really tick off the kids :D

Ah - OK. Let me know, we'll run together a bit (I can do my speed session while you (and DG, if she wants to join) do your easy runs :D).

I wouldn't quite call it a blinder but I was delighted :pac: Mojo back!

Ah no, credit where it's due. And yes, let us know when you're around Ed. Would love to do a Cliff trail run.

No running all week due to illness. However I did go to a Pilates session today and had 10 minutes to spare beforehand, so jogged a little barefoot on the treadmill beforehand. It made me realize how much I missed it! Hopefully 60-90 minutes easy on Sunday.

Sorry to hear that Nop, hope you're on the mend. There's nothing like being sick to remind us that we don't have to run, we get to run :)
