Was this a go around at Shannon or just training?

Oddly, as far as I know, Shannon doesn't have a landing charge category for maintenance flights so if you want a reduced rate you have to apply the T-for-Training suffix!

I suppose they could say they are 'training' the aeroplane :)

Nothing showing on TAF's in any of the 3 major airports so far or Met website. Where's the info from?

Interesting cheers, I'll have to read more about that guy.

Could add to the weather picture from "legal" sources for work.

Im gonna second that and also add Maquiladora to the list from that thread, the two of them are always spot on on their forecasts

Never spotted an ol' headtheball loon this far north before. Are they only recently showing up on F24?

They are cool looking yokes arnt they?
My question is what is picking them on the radar? They hardly have ADS-B.

They actually do! Makes it a lot easier for Google ( and ATC ) to track them.

It would also make sense to use SATCOM CPDLC to relay directly back to Google HQ but I'm not sure if they have enough power / uplift for that.

What's the fog like at Dublin? Is it thick enough to have an effect on the aircraft landing in Dublin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,980 ✭✭✭Growler!!!

Are any aircraft reporting anything on LiveATC? Any holding on FR24? The soaps are on:D

They are. Kinda like giant airborne jelly fish. There are two of them towards the south-west of Australia now. They obviously pop up when they get within radar range or something. The one that was over New Zealand has drifted off / and or burst. I'm surprised they're moving so slowly, considering they're up in the stratosphere.

Question - is it possible to get F24 to show two (or more) flight tracks at the same time?
