FR1902 about to make an approach.
Some serious serious winds, 42knots mean speed is amazing for something that effectively came out of nowhere (No wind warnings, the TAF was forecasting 28kts)

Was there? Not a civilian one anyway. The TAF was forecasting gusts of 45kts, a mean speed of 42kts is an entirely different thing.

No weather warnings in my app, and show me where the 45kt mean speed is listed?

Very stormy night here in North Dublin. Quite surprising that there wasn't more disruption.

The max 2 min speed was 42kts, 10 min was 38kt, 45kt isn't listed because the forecast was a bit wrong :)

Thanks to All that the last flight has safely landed...

Was on the Ryanair Madrid flight tonight. First ever Go-around, not something I would want to experience again. Just glad I'm not currently waiting for a bus in Shannon.

EI-EVY has now landed. EI-DPM isn't far behind from Shannon.

EDIT: 02:20, EI-ESM has just departed Shannon for Dublin.

I'd love a go around on a normal flight to feel it,I was in a few on an empty 737 on test flight with much higher climb rates with almost immediate steep turns and thought it was OK!!

been on one once with Aer Lingus about 6 years ago into Dublin. i thought it was great craic but a nervous flyer that was with me nearly had cardiac arrest.

can imagine its very very stressful though for people who are not that much into flying.

Flew in last night around 2330 on the Stobart/EIR flight from BHX. First flight on an ATR & arriving in conditions like that, you could really notice how rough it was from out as far as Howth. I must of been the only one enjoying the added excitement & wanting a go-around. You really do take for granted the good job the guys up front do in weather like that until you experience it though.

Did a go-around into Edinburgh a few years back whilst it was great craic for the me, it was a dreadful ordeal for the anxious souls around me.

Flying out of Glasgow a few years back on an ATR, we stopped our climb out and banked sharp right to return to the field. The flight crew had received an unsafe gear indication and obviously needed to return, and relayed this simple fact to the PAX. The very nervous Aussie lady beside me started to panic till it was pointed out that the cabin crew were very relaxed, there was no request to brace, and there was no equipment lining up to meet us. I heard her on the phone later to a relative and was waxing lyrical about how cool she was throughout it all... :D

I'm not a great man with turbulence but honestly, the most stressful part of it for me was the possibility of being diverted to Shannon. The thought of that journey back to Dublin on a bus gives me the shivers.

Very windy across the southern half of Ireland tomorrow.

Dublin Airport could see gusts to 60/65kt

    Cork ~55kt

    A fast moving system.

Is there a reason for this ORK - LHR flight flying so far north? Congestion at Heathrow perhaps?

Nothing unusual, seen that flight taking that track many a time, same as STN - ORK.
