Can someone explain to me why planes in ACE are landing with a 8kt tailwind?

From an slightly uneducated view, wouldn't 8kt headwind be far more favourable?

Different aircraft have different wind limitations. There are several corporate jets that I know of which the AFM states that they can accept up to 10kts of a tailwind. I would assume airliners have similar limitations.

Ultimately the aircraft captain will make the decision. Sometimes it is more efficient to accept that tailwind depending on the runway orientation and direction of arrival.

Some airports that operate preferential runways will do so up to a specific tailwind component. This would be listed in the Jeppessen arrivals section at the beginning of a chart pack.

Because Runway 03 has an ILS and is therefore preferred for landing.

Runway 21 just has a non precision offset VOR approach with special terrain considerations which make this a more challenging approach. The approach is in very close proximity to terrain, so many airlines will prefer to land with up to a 15kt tailwind (performance calculations permitting) to 03 than perform the approach to 21.

On the other hand, a tailwind to 03 will be a severe limitation for take-off performance on many aircraft as that same terrain needs to be cleared on departure, so airplanes may require 21 for departure.
