Stand banter going on with the Shamrocks on approach

Controller: "We all want something, we can't have everything"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,179 ✭✭✭✭fr336

Aircraft: "What number are we for the approach?"

    Controller: "Number 6!"

    Another aircraft: "Get in line"

Crossing the country westbound is a dying breed in the form of MD11F OH-LGD. Most certainly not carrying any load as it's up at FL430!

Does anyone here know, these Blue Air flights - they are pax flights right? There do be a few here in LTN and they're also running quite late at night, just wondering if they're cargo.

Blue air seems to be all PAX flights. They must fly out at this time since it's the cheapest

Or to increase the utilisation of the aircraft. I assume the price is only an added benefit :)

I assume this is not actually a Falcon 2000 at 6,000 ft over Gorteen...

Too low for me to receive directly so not sure what it actually is.

I've seen a few at 45K ft. All private jets.

Yes that's why I said 'such an aircraft' i.e. the kind of one in question, not a smaller private jet. :pac:

Does anyone here have a way of seeing what ATC freqencies apply to what sectors on the map globally? I've seen official maps for pilots but when I've tried inputting myself I didn't seem to get anywhere fast. I'd currently like to try following some Shamrock's into the US and Canada all the way from the Atlantic through the different sectors till they reach their destination airports.

Try this not sure if it does sector frequencies.

Can't see anything in your post :P

You are better off following the flight as it switches over from controller to controller, we could give you a list of freqs associated with each area, but no guarantee that they will route through that area or be given that frequency.

But if you still want the freqs, let me know and i will send you some Jeppesen charts.

Yeah it just gets a little more tricky unless you follow them to the letter across the ocean :P It'd be great to follow flights all the way across the UK and Ireland but alas UK law is in the stone age.

Charts would be much appreciated though whenever you have a chance, thanks :)

Ryanair's 'new' -700 was out on a test flight earlier from Prestwick, up the West Coast and back again, EI-SEV.
