He comes across as the most arrogant of the lot of them. And that took some doing. Delighted for him.

I hear he's turning handouts down to keep his pockets clean.

Judge pulled no punches on this one.
A judge in the US found Mr Drumm was “not remotely credible” and that this conduct in concealing asset transfers was “both knowing and fraudulent” in a damning judgement.
Mr Drumm was also accused in the judgment of telling "outright lies".
The disgraced banker learned of his fate tonight - seven months after a lengthy bankruptcy trial concluded in Boston.
Bankruptcy judge Frank Bailey concluded there were 30 reasonable objections against discharging Mr Drumm from his debts.
These included Mr Drumm's admission he made false claims under oath about the transfer of hundreds of thousands of euro in assets to his wife Lorraine.

***** been done for being *****, there might be some justice still.

I still doubt anything will actually happen to him here.

Certainly in terms of proper jail time anyway.

    Good news

Glad some sort of justice is being done here.

Public interests would be better served if he was working to pay off his debts, as much as I'd like to see the slimy b@stard do a stretch.

I hope he has to rent out his back pce pay this back.

    despicable wretch

    He'll lose a lot.
    But he'll never leave luxury.

    He's one of the lads.
Will probably live out his punishment in a lowly 5 bed in Spain.

    Poor wee guy.

You would never hear a judge speak in such scathing terms here. He'll probably still do alright. When you see Endas neighbour and friend former Anglo CFO Matt Moran getting a job with PWC in Luxembourg you just have to wonder.......

Is he really broke, or is he just bankrupt?

Judge pulled no punches on this one.

There's a few things in that loist that would be jail time on their own i would ahve thought...?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

No no you are mistaking parts of the list that only apply to the poor.

    Soon to include him, hopefully.

The judge has basically accused him of perjury. I don't see how he can avoid at least being charged and following that, the judge has made it clear that this is not going to treate as a special case.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Wouldn't it be great if he got a clatter of a train or a bus

A lot of people make mistakes in life and I guess most people might deserve a second chance; the bare-faced arrogance of this guy though was hard to stomach.

    No sympathy for him whatsoever.

Anybody remember when Charlie Bird doorstepped him in his 4.6m hideaway house in the States..

He bought the house in March 2008, coincidentally the same month when Anglo's shares bombed on St Patrick's Day... known as the "St Patrick's Day Massacre"...

I would send Charlie back over next time with a shotgun...

Fortunately in Ireland we have a corrupt justice system that protects our betters.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,122 ✭✭✭BeerWolf

Can his Irish creditors pursue him in the US?

I think that as he is no longer under the protection of the Us bankruptcy system, that he can be pursued though the US. Open to correction though.
