It took me a few secs to realise what it was then there was no going back. I feel physically sick.

I don't use facebook but can you not tell who posted the video?

If you can, then a starting point would be to contact him/her directly asking why etc. and then block them or whatever.

Are there age filters on these videos?

I dont even know why I posted this thread I'm just sick of this - I know it's not the worst, and in fairness it was a one clean shot rather than a blunt steak knife type job but this stuff stays with me a while. We are not programmed to do this to other people!

Well, to answer his question I think i'll be thinking about it for days/weeks even, and wishing the earth would just explode!

Yeah ... that sounds like his account was probably hacked. I've often seen similar videos posted with comments like that. (Unless you think this was a normal thing for him to post on your page?)

I'd have probably reported the video, deleted it, and texted/emailed/phoned him to let him know about it. He's probably been unfriended by loads of people now and doesn't even know why!

i watched a video once of a girl being beheaded.

I haven't opened anything like that since.

to this day, i can still see the video, hear the noise. see the body.

i never felt physically ill after bloody videos or anything like that.
i now can't watch anything thats worse than a cut without feeling ill.

I know it was my fault to open the video.. but Jebus, its awful.

A video popped up on my news feed recently of 5 or 6 fellas being shot in the head and then sprayed with AK47s. Looked like Syria or the likes. It was a short video and over before you knew it. I hit the report button on Facebook and selected the reason. Got an email back a short while later saying it didn't contravene terms of use. Bizarre.

Facebook changed their terms of acceptable content about a year ago. The beheading videos are totally cool by them and do not breach any terms because they're deemed to be "raising awareness" rather than glorifying violence.

I don't particularly want to see gory videos but the issue for me is consent. People being murdered on camera obviously did not consent to be killed and have their dying moments shared with the world. Leaving how violent the videos are out of it, I think it's disrespectful to endorse videos like that but then immediately take down a video of a woman breastfeeding, even if she's the one who uploaded it.

I dunno, someone posted a pic in cvpl once of a little girl who had her head blown off by a bomb. To say it was graphic is an under statement. We deleted it as inappropriate but that image will stay with me for a long time.

Just saw that posted by someone on my FB, and to be honest, i don't think it looks real. Everything about it appears real, but the speed of the swing and the easyness of the head coming off gave me doubts. And also not one of the goriest videos out there. Quite clean actually (if you ignore the massive pool of blood on the ground from previous beheadings).

I dunno, maybe movies and gaming has desensitised me. Wasn't that bad either way. Turn off auto-play and keep scrolling.

Maybe im over sensitive, I just get a pain in my chest when I realise what people are capable of. No-one deserves that. Probably happened because he was a christian.

Could be over-sensitivity, or it could be that i genuinely don't care what happens in parts of the world that have no effect on my life. Humankind have always been dicks, just now that technology and social media is making it more apparent. Yeah, it sucks to see that happen to probably innocent people, but me worrying about it, or letting it get to me, won't change it, and regardless of what anyone says, there's nothing i can do to stop it.

I have seen worse, and it bothered me less than this.

Maybe i'm getting older and put more thought into how precious life is, and to see it taken away without so much as a thought gets to me.

Maybe you should try a bit more outside the borders of Ireland,it helps alot against ignorance
