No poll showing up for me....

    Silva or Austin

    Not Baines

The Jovetic news will shape my decision massively, if he is playing that makes Silva less attractive of an option I think. Austin is appealing, so is Yaya, so is Benteke. Very similar to today in that there is lots of good options with no great ones. Silva will be getting my vote but as I said that could change.

Did Jovetic feature at all today?

    Voted for Austin

No. Just on the bench IIRC...

I don't think Jovetic makes Silva less appealing. Silva will still be in the hole causing havoc, he'll just have a proper striker to feed rather than Milner.

    Captain Charlie Austin!!!!!

    Come on King Charlie! :D

I think there is an effect there in terms of the goal tally of having an actual striker there, who plays like a striker rather than Milner. Silva would no longer be the most attacking player in the City lineup. Jovetic would be in positions that Milner wouldn't get into. Positions Silva has probably been getting in these last 2 games.

Of course there's a case to be made for Silva to be capable of more assists with someone more reliable to create chances for, but I'm personally Im more inclined to assess the likelihood of goalscoring when deciding upon a captain. It's why more often than not I go for strikers.

I take your point but as long as it's 1 up front with Silva behind and he's on this form he's a great option. I'll probably captain him.

I'm wary of Jov just yet, are we all getting carried away in our desperation for a City striker to own, to bring a player just back for injury straight in, never mind captaining him!

I had Silva in my team from January wildcard onwards last year and he was very consistent in his returns, Id never have captained him though.

Clearly last season was very different to this in terms of captain choices but I'm still just not sure at all about Silva regularly delivering 10 point scores with a striker playing. Granted the opposition here is Burnley at home so that certainly works in his favour.

Have to go with Yaya again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 784 ✭✭✭FrClintPower

Austin for me, hopefully it'll be decent choice for once.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,747 ✭✭✭Ziegler1988

I brought in Yaya to captain these next two matches, but I don't think I can look beyond Austin. His home form is immense and Palace defence is anything but sturdy.

Changed from Sanchez to Fabregas yesterday, didnt work out to well, going with Austin tomorrow

Austin, though I would probably captain Silva if I had him.

Thinking of swapping Kane too Austin and making Charlie the captain

Neil Warnock has been sacked. Cmon Charlie Austin!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

My captain picks have been premdominantly dire for a long time now. 6 blanks in the last 7.

Will somebody please just tell me who to captain and I'll just do it. No questions asked.

I have Silva, Snchez, Costa, Austin as the most viable picks. Zabaletta as a maverick one

Have it on Silva but think I'll switch to Austin. Never seem to get Silva in at the right time so I'm expecting his next return to be 2 pointer.

Often when a teams manager gets sacked they up their game for a match or two. Austin not as appealing as he was but I'll still end up captaining him I'd say

    Austin. Silva VC

I'm crazily thinking of captaining Zabaleta. Purely because he's guaranteed to play.

I have all the above. Currently have it on Silva with Austin vc, but that might change around. It's a coin flip between the two for me. Both in form and at home to dire sides.

Austin for me I think although I fear a Palace backlash now that Warnock's gone.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

Austin for me, simply for the fact that I had him as captain for his hatrick 2 weeks ago. That was my finest Fantasy football moment in years....having a slightly leftfield captain who gets a hatrick is better then...well you know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,698 ✭✭✭sheroman01

Just brought Austin in and he's getting the armband!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

With Warnock just being sacked, Austin is probably the obvious choice. For that reason he is currently only my VC.

    :D

Managerless teams have a habit of throwing up surprises.

I can see QPR hammering them. The Palace lads only found out this morning, not exactly any time to galvanize themselves with the match 2moro

Sacking Warnock could improve Palace in the short term and thats why I'll captain Silva and put Austin as VC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,598 ✭✭✭MarkSRFC21

Have it on silva atm. I fear palace will improve and stop Austin going mental so he's not my captain, but I also fear the opposite happen and I will miss a big opportunity. No one around me in my leagues have either silva or Austin, so whoever I pick will be a differential, but I just know I'll pick the wrong one. God, I hate what fantasy football does to me.

Dhera feck it, I'm going Tekkers captain too. Go hard or go home as they say!

Captained Benteke last GW, he blanked and was surrounded by a sea of goals/assists in my front 8. I will go with him again.

    Zabaleta.

Me! Those extra 4 points over unfortunate Aguero captainers are handy. I don't have the balls to give it to Tekkers again over Austin though. Hope he hits a hatty for us :)

    Silva and Austin VC.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

Silva (C), Austin (VC.) I'm hoping they both bring in the goods today. To be honest, I can't see either of them not doing well so I'm hoping it's a case of a similar score for both of them.
