That was Baines last chance, absolute disaster of a decision brining him in

Ah well hindsight's great but you can't call bringing in one of the world's best left-backs a 'disaster of a decision.' I'm sure you brought him in after those incredible run of gameweeks he had and were hoping for decent returns. It just hasn't worked out due to a variety of factors (Mirallas, Martinez's poor defensive setup etc) Not many could have foreseen him getting such paltry returns in the immediate aftermath of his unbelievable gameweeks.

Why sub siggy against Villa at home?

Had to bench one of kane, bony, Costa, siggy, Sanchez, Silva, fabregas, eriksen, he would have seemed the obvious one.

it is at this point of the season that I would like to announce my retirement from Fantasy Football. It's not going to get any better than what it was at the end of last week. ;)

One of my brothers is home from Canada for Christmas and I think he's some kind of lucky talisman or something. Every player in his team has scored or assisted. I'm having a stinker. He's gained 40 points on me already. If it keeps going, I'll be shoving him back on a plane this evening. :pac:

Baines is sceptic and has been for weeks due to Miralles. His history means nothing because tactics have changed

Not really the forum for it but if Baines was one of the world's best left backs he wouldn't have spent his career at Wigan and Everton.

Delighted I didn't go for him weeks back when I thought about it.

Martinez. That's it in a word.

I don't rate him at all. Years at Wigan and he never managed to make them a decent PL side.

I think that's pretty irrelevant. It's clear to see that he has remained loyal to Everton despite big interest from Man United. I'm sure that if he decided he wanted to leave a few years ago United would have signed him to replace Evra. As you said though this is not the forum for this type of discussion.

United were after Shaw, not Baines.

I read an interview with Baines this week where he said Moyes didn't overly rate him when he signed him despite paying 7 mil for him.

That's why Baines was in and out of the team for the first year and a half. Apparently one of the problems was Moyes felt he was too short at 5 foot 7.

Everton and Baines turned utd down several times. Tough one to take for any fans of money clubs.

I'm on the same boat, Rooney easing the pain a bit.

I'll go nuclear if Sanchez has a 1-point cameo. Rooney tearing it up.
