Gadget for walking/running (calories, distance, etc.)

    Hey Guys,

I'm pretty sure what I want exists, but I've no idea what it's called. I know there are things called pedometers. As far as I know they measure your steps taken and that's about it.. not really something I'd be too fussed about.

I have an app on my phone called Runtastic. Also had one called MapMyRun. They were both great in that they gave me a map of the area i covered. My distance, time, calories burned, etc.

However, owing to their nature, they're unreliable. According to these apps I'm zig-zagging over rivers and buildings (when in reality I'm just walking in a straight line). Their distance is always wildly higher than if I measure the same route on Google Earth, and I know the calories are a guess more than anything else.

So what I was wondering was, is there any such product out there, wristband, watch (phone accessory?!) that measures these things, but does so accurately?

Something that can be used for basic things like walking and running, but that is reliable and accurate? Something that could also be used for Cycling would be great, too.

Like i say, Im sure it exists (the product) but I've done a bit of googling and I'm coming up blank. Any ideas?

    Cheers guys :)
