Paddy McAllister has agreed a move to Gloucester next season. He is currently at Aurillac in the ProD2 who are 4th despite having a low budget.

Great news, do you know if he is first choice at Aurillac? How has his injury record been since he left?

He's only made 2 starts there.

Anyone know how Connor Gilsenan is doing at Li? . He really impressed me during u 20 rwc a few years ago. Complete nuisance at the breakdown.

Humphries taking a punt on him I'd say.

He's played 6 games, around 220 minutes. I worry some of those were probably Anglo Welsh cup

He's had some fairly meaningful game time and is rated quite highly, but he has some more development to do. I said before he'd be a good signing for Ulster and I still think that's true, I'm a fan of Clive Ross as well, between the two I'd be fairly sure Ulster would end up with a good option.

Clive ross is really a 6 tho . He played all his rugby at 6 for Landsdowne. Think he's only playing 7 out of necessity until he puts on a few more kilos. Him and Gilsenan would be a good fit in ulster as they have no flankers in the 23_28 year old age bracket. I had hopes for Joyce but don't think he has the pace. Pollock and Mcmillian along with Ferris were huge losses in that age group.

Not Irish but this guys name was on a lisg of iq players in the southern hemisphere that was floating around a few seasons ago.

He is out of contract at the end of this season super rugby season.

43 super rugby caps in three seasons is a decent record.

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Fitzgerald_(rugby_union)

Maybe one of the provinces would bring him in.

He can play lock and in theory he covers 6.

Connacht could definitely do with him, so could Munster if POC is retiring since Ryan and Foley would be the top two locks, Ulster could do with him as well if they plan to shift henderson to 6

No wonder none of the provinces have signed him then. Damn.

I've seen his name randomly mentioned a couple of times on uafc and wondered whether it was someone dropping hints.

As you say that's a fair whack of caps for three seasons.

    Is he any use?

From what I can recall, he is a good solid journeyman player. Does the basics well, works hard, nothing spectacular.

Exactly what you want from a tight forward.

I posted here and jaco(not sure if it is the same jaco) named him in uafc the next day and there was a three page discussion on him. Comments on uafc can be traced to my post here and i have no inside info about him coming to Ireland.

As to quality I would say he would be in a similar strata ability wise as Mike McCarthy or Dan Tuohy. He won't make it as an All Black or as a regular starter for Ireland but could well be a fringe international if he was playing his rugby in Ireland.

As to his situation in new zealand himself an someone else around the same level are competing to partner brody retallick for the highlanders.

Denis Fogarty released by Agen according to RT: http://www.rugby-transferts.com/top-14/agen/0028944-pro-d2-agen-recrute-un-talonneur-et-cherche-un-dix.html

After a year at Aurillac where he was first choice, he has been second choice at Agen for 2 seasons: http://www.lnr.fr/denis-fogarty,13905.html

Why did he ever leave Aurillac do you know? He seemed to be doing well there but that same can't be said about his time at Agen.

Agen had much more potential at promotion plus he probably got a better salary there. Although Aurillac are only a point behind them which is incredible given the budget difference.

Eamonn Sheridan has signed a two year contract with Oyonnax.

    http://www.rugbyrama.fr/rugby/transferts/2014/top-14-transferts-oyonnax-eamonn-sheridan-a-signe-pour-deux-saisons_sto4655858/story.shtml

They are 9 points clear of the drop so look safe from relegation. In fact they could be in the playoffs this season!

Very interesting move. His start has undoubtedly dimmed this season after a strong opening season but he has still managed 19 appearances for London Irish this season so far.

France could be a great move for him if he settles there; I assume he'll be making a decent salary. The only issue is that Oyonnax are a retirement home of a side. They'll need a few more signings to remain in the T14.
