I was with a group of friends and the manager with a member of staff came over to me asked me to leave in front of my friends.
I asked why, what had i done to deserve this and he accused me of throwing a pint of beer over the barman.
I couldn't believe first that he falsely accused of doing something i hadn't.
second i hadn't even gone to the bar yet.
But it was his attitude more so that anything else that pissed me off.

what are my options regarding this?

You have the option of no longer giving your money to that bar and instead going some place else in future :)

Scummy thing to do in fairness OP. Had you much drink in you when you decided to throw the pint?

If you can prove that they've sullied your reputation in front of witnesses with lies, sure.

I hope you can afford a solicitor if that's the route you want to go.

If your friends know you didn't do it, good luck trying to prove they damaged your reputation.

And seriously - suing because you were kicked out of a bar? Come on. It's not that difficult to go to another bar!

Not go back there and convince others not to or go back tomorrow when you're sober and ask about it.

    That's sad.

You were kicked out. Big deal. You went to another bar, had some drinks, end of story.

If you're in the Viper room on merit you hardly need to ask AH what to do OP! Man up.

Last time I was kicked out of a pub, I was in the smoking area and the bouncer told me to leave because apparently I was too fat (I was a size 20 at the time, so pretty fat) to be in the pub.

I found it hilarious, left and haven't darkened their doorway again, even though I've lost lots of weight so would probably be allowed back in.

It's not a big deal being kicked out for a stupid reason.

They obviously confused you with someone else. Get over it.

go back there some other night and spill your drink on a barman, then walk out.

No point having the 'fame' (or blame, whichever you want to say) without the fun :P

Usually when I get kicked out of a pub/club it is because I am pissed as a fart.

So now for the real story, thanks.

I must be the only person in the world ever to have been fcuked out of a pub because I was pissed out of my head and was being a knob.

Of course you can bring them to court, get Senior Counsel too. Tell them you will have the shirt off their backs. In reality probably not, can you prove it all? will you get awarded damages? Sure half the country swear they were thrown out wrongly.

When you go to court you go to win, nothing less. I dont think at best you would even get costs. Chil out by the fire with a whiskey and laugh it off and never bother them again.

Madness. Call back when quiet and ask for management. Explain what happened and that you want to come back with your friends and be looked after with some comp drinks

Oh no, I've done that too a few times. Let's not forget the time I walked out at closing time, not a bother, then promptly fell over and woke up in hospital.

    :)

Nah, the bouncer was just a knob. The one and only time I've been kicked out without even being drunk!

Come on OP, you want to take them to court for kicking you out of a pub? How old are you as a matter of interest?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43,028 ✭✭✭✭SEPT 23 1989

I was removed from a city centre establishment because i was wearing a long coat and probably looked like trouble to the eastern european door staff

I took it as a compliment

You must find a bimbo with Honour to besmirch first, I'm sure the OP can worm that into another Fairytale for us...

I was forcibly ejected from a place in Lesson Street back around 1986. Well deserved. My Father ended up buying the building and those to either side of it in 2001.

It should have been the ultimate revenge for me. It really wasn't. Made substantially more profit on it though than the 400% markup on the very bad wine being sold there at the time.

Weight seems to be the lastest thing people think its ok to be discrimiating about what exactly was his problem? I wouldn't have left

There really wasn't the whole ROCK vide around there in those times (love the column in the Times though). It was more sedate. Think Pat Kenny in a white suit drinking Drambuie.
