I'll tell you what online catch-up has to do with it:

UK viewers who want to see Graham but miss him can see him on the BBC i-player, which is available in the UK only.

Viewers in the Republic who miss him can see him on the UTV Ireland Player, just like they've been able to see him on the 3Player up to now.

i find Utvireland a bit of a disapointment so far,but it is very early days so hopefully they will grow as time moves on, Ifind it a lot easier to watch than tv3,the one big plus so far are the ad breaks are much shorter ,eg Coronation street tv3=6minutes,Coronation street Utvireland=4 minutes, I will be sticking with Utvireland for the near future to see how the channel developes.

I'd watch neither, but Tubridy at least isn't obnoxious. I remember when there were real interviewers and comedians rather than overpaid presenters and people simply being vulgar.

I still wonder what that has to do with my point on people who want to watch it on Friday night where it is freely available on BBC1. They are more likely to watch it there instead of two days later on UTV Ireland

Not everyone has BBC1...
... and even if they do they may not have an easy way to record it. So if they are watching something else or doing something else on Friday, they have another chance to see it.

If TV3 think its worthwhile showing old GN Shows, I don't see why it doesn't make sense for UTV Ireland to show new ones.

In relation to Norton the only people who will benifit is saorview viewers as he is still available if they want to see him and probably only a couple of thousand extra viewers at that would be bothered.
Anyone else can see him on bbc on Friday or skyplus him. Strange decision,one of many by utvirl to put him on Sunday night.

PS I see their Facebook page is full of negative comments. I think they must be in shock at the negative response they are getting especially from UPC viewers.

Twitter is the exact same - why they didn't leave UTVNI on UPC too is beyond me - what the hell did they expect would happen?

Don't panic yet. It will take time, but over the next year or so, I think UTVI will become a simulcast of UTV NI, with the exception of news and current affairs programmes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but even as soon as tomorrow, from 8.30am to 9pm tomorrow night , the schedule of both stations is identical , except for news and it would be up to 10 pm, only TV3 have the rights for Broadchurch. As UTVI get back the rights that TV3 currently hold, the schedules of the two UTVs will get closer and closer.

Why they don't make it available on the red button is amazing. Solves the problem for everyone. Nobody is going to use it during corrie but the the rest of the rubbish is on you just might

Ok, so that leaves lots of people (who didn't or couldn't record it on Friday, or don't have BBC 1) to enjoy Graham Norton on UTV Ireland.

BBC 1 themselves repeat it on Mondays.

You see they should have kept UTVNI going on UPC when they actually did have an almost exact copy.

Films and CL will drive UPC customers absolutely mad - I think it's a matter of time when it returns to UPC.

AFAIK TGNS went out on 3e on Friday Night and was repeated the following night on TV3. Who benefited from this schedule? Saorview, as Sat viewers had access to a free-ad TGNS on BBC 1 as do UPC customers.

IMO UTV need to change UTV +1 to UTV MIX.
