Photos sell and if people are too busy to take good photos and give a clear description then they are wasting peoples time. These are the people who get alot of potential genuine buyers calling, the seller then unable to satisfy the potential buyer by not able to forward good photos and only able to say sure call on sunday tis perfect, come and take a look, you can stay for tay.

Whatever about trying to make a few quid selling something on dd, imagine trying to sell something for 5 and 6 figure sums with bad photos.

Daft.ie. Never ceases to amaze me the state of photos and the condition of the houses. No tidying up, no lick of paint and yet expecting big sale prices. People need to get real.

This is a great example of "how not to photograph your house for sale"

Rooms full of stuff that should have been skipped or burned.
Living room crammed with furniture that looks like it came from an East German nursing home

.Horrendous looking grubby mattresses and pillows with a hole worn in them....shudder.

I was buying maiden dairy heifers in May, I answered an ad in the examiner and this is how it went.

Me: Hello, you have maiden dairy heifers for sale
Woman seller: yes, how many do you want?
Me: It depends on the price how much do you want for them?
Seller: How much would you pay?
    Me: around €600
Seller: huh, we can't sell them anyway because we were informed today that they need to be tested first.

I had rang her sons number earlier but he didn't answer he rang back later so I thought if they weren't after talking that I might get more information out of him. I thought she was bluffing about the testing but it was the first thing he mentioned. I asked him how much he wanted for them and he said he wouldn't like to give a price over the phone  So I said it would be too late for me by the time they were tested.

The first thing that comes to mind is that they had a crazy price on them or else they were afraid some neighbour was fishing for info but they put their name and address on the ad. Do some people think that if you ask for a crazy price in the yard that you might have a better chance of a prospective buyer paying it.

If the price was right I wouldn't let a few pillow or wallpaper put me off . One skip will take care of that .
Anyone know how much its going for ?

That house in Killeshandra has all the trappings of an inherited house where an elderly person has died.. They couldn't be bothered spending the money to tidy it up as the market there is so limited it won't increase its value. I'd be shocked if it fetched more than €35-40k, other than Lakeland in Killeshandra town there is damn all employment opportunities and infrastructure connections to anywhere are non existent.. With work I'm in Killeshandra every week and other than Lakeland its like the land that time forgot !

Interesting here's another Killeshandra landmark that actually was used as a setting for a horror film... http://www.abandonedireland.com/ks_1.html

Sadly Lakeland own the land and were allowed to level the buildings into the ground last year, an absolute shocking representation of how we treat our heritage in this fair land.. anyway this little grewsome tour of Killeshandra is wayy off topic.

That was originally the home of Arthur Lough, who set up Killeshandra Creamery back at the start of the last century. It was sold to the Holy Rosary nuns in 1924, and huge wings of dormitory blocks added. They sold up in 1985 and Killeshandra Creamery bought back the house and lands.
The land was used to build an effluent plant and give the Co Op somewhere to spread the product.
Vandalism and theft and the ravages of time reduced the house to a dangerous shell.

Oh yeah, some very prominent citizens nearby helped themselves to the better fixtures and fittings.
