Stumbled across this article in the Gaurdian.

Have you ever spotted any design fails, or logos that turned out horribly wrong?

Actually I was watching Tescos ad a few weeks ago and though their slogan "Every little helps" was pretty funny, the person who says it in the ad says it very fast and it sounds to me like they are saying "Every lidl helps" so they are pretty much unwittingly advertising their main competitor, no idea what ****ing genius thought that one up and now that I've said it thats all you will all hear now when you see that ad lol

Same with Tesco's recent keeping prices down campaign which had an arrow pointing down, so that instead of reading the price for the item in question, you automatically followed the arrow to the shelf below. Definitely confusing.

Admittedly rather 'short sighted' on my part, much like some of these faux pas -

Absolutely gutted I didn't send my photo of that carton to the press and only posted it on Facebook about 2 weeks ago coz then it could have been me getting the credit for discovering Tesco's "cock up". I have that photo on my phone dated 13th Oct. Dammit.

EE probably shouldn't set up shop in Ireland, their 4GEE network would get a lot of laughs I'm sure. :pac:

9 bar, reference to the weight when buying drugs.

At the Morris Marina launch in the early '70s , British Leyland decided the tagline for their promotional campaign for the car was, 'Beauty with brains behind it'.

    So far so good.

The trouble was that for their brochures they photographed the range of cars in field with a whole rake of sheep in the background.

In later literature the sheep were hastily airbrushed out.

I do not think there is anyone on the country who would mix the two up.

Funny you say that actually, cause Lidl have caught onto the similarities a few years ago and did their own billboards from it!

    Every Lidl Helps

My son was eating breakfast one day and the Sunday paper was on the table beside him. He said 'Dad, do you see anything wrong with that advertisment ?'. Hadn't noticed it myself but when it was pointed out I thought , wtf, do they not get people to proof read these things before they go to print !!!!
