Try your local hunting store! You have to licence air rifles, just like any firearm, so keep that in mind!

You'd be better off getting a second hand shotgun if its game your interested in! Go to a few gun stores, have a look at prices e.t.c! Licence is 80 euro every 3 years! You also need to join a gun club or get permissions!

Forgive a question from the uneducated but is there a pellet gun that does not need a licence that is capable of killing vermin (rats, magpies, crows)?

    NO

Thank you for taking the trouble to answer my simple query in such a uniquely helpful way.

I hope that as you progress from school that you receive similarly helpful advice from others.

I may be able to return the favour in pointing out that your CAPSLOCK is on.

Hi, you should look into joining a gun club and get insurance before you apply for your license, try to shoot with an experienced person who will guide you in safety etc.

Look it lads, the yokes that fire the little yellow or other colour plastic pellets are not suitable for hunting. They're airsoft guns and not capable of delivering the necessary energy to humanely kill any animal from any distance. If you use them to hunt any animal you're committing wildlife and/ or animal cruelty offences.

You can hunt rabbits with a high power air rifle but you need landowners' permission for any land you hunt and a firearms licence for the gun and ammo.

The OP is using a toy for hunting/shooting and as it's ineffective and possibly illegal i'm closing this thread.

A new thread with the OP's last post seeking recommendations and help on firearms choice and appropriate game has been created here.
