Seen a 2006 reg mk4 golf today. Seen the very odd 2005 reg one, never an 06 though. Something got very delayed there.

I think they were doing the estate in 06, never seen an 06 hatch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,845 ✭✭✭Noccy_Mondy

This was a hatch anyway, seen the arse of it. Relooked 4 or 5 times, in case it was just a dodgy looking 5!

I'm very suprised anyone would buy a mk4 in 2006 when the mk5 sales were well up and running at that stage.

Same could be said for the Octavia, I saw an 09 Mk.1

There's a 10 one local to me and was a 12 one as a taxi in Navan for a while. Even the mk2 was facelifted by then!

Reading about the mk2 saddens me a bit :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,291 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Last mk1 Octavia tours were made in 2010, saw one, think it was MO or SO reg.
they actually had a mk2 Octavia tour in Europe after but it was only the pre facelift lights and stripped out spec.

I've seen a few 09 ones funny when you think my dads mk2 was 2005. The mk1 car was a great car for anyone who's sole interest was reliability they were fairly basic inside but sure less to go wrong I suppose :). Although the mk2 facelift was hardly unreliable either even my mothers facelift mk2 which is probably the worst of them is just over 3 years old 100k km on it and it hasn't had any issues whatsoever never been in the garage outside of a service.

The only thing wrong is a worn driver seat which is a flaw with the seat material on the elegance spec skoda wouldn't replace it under warranty. It's still a sore point with my mother she lost it with them over it a few times. But they should of replaced it known issue seat coves aren't expensive my mother was like to the guy in skoda head office well I hope the seat cover was worth loosing the sale of a new skoda for :pac:

For the cvrt (doe) do you need to remove the plastic wheel nut covers on the alloys or do they even check them.

For the nct you leave alloys alone, ,for hubcaps you have to remove them

Below is a picture of the alloys. See the black things covering the nuts ones of in the picture you think they would be ok to leave on ?

    No need.
As long as they can actually count the wheel nuts, they're fine. You only need to remove them if it's a single cap / wheel cover hiding all the nuts together... If you get me!

I'll play it safe and remove them with the price of cvrt once a year is enough to do it I definitely don't want a retest for something stupid.
