    Hi,

I have a harris bipod (very basic) that I attach to my CZ Style.
However, I've gone and lost the pins that let me attach it to the fore stud.

Does anyone have any spares / know where I can get spares?

    Cheers

    E

get a drill bit the same size cut it to lenght and tap it trough the hole then just touch weld it or solder it in

He could just nail the Harris onto the fore end or weld it onto the barrel.

Well you just don't loose those pins they break off or you loose the assembly that they are attached to.

If he managed to break them off he hardly has the kind of skill required to do what you were suggesting in your post.

What he needs is a scrapped Harris, might be worth posting that in the for sale or wanted thread.

well i will can wait and see what he says.
I am not going to assume he cannot fix the problem if that is the problem.

Contact Harris direct by phone (I've read that they respond quicker) and I am sure that they will sort you out.

    Thanks guys.

So looking at the pictures above and the bipod, I think I may have been sold a pup.
Works well though so I'm not too upset if it turns out that I don't actually own a harris bipod.

Can't post a picture but what happens is:

bipod attaches to the stock (which is plastic) through a small piece of metal that has rubber coating on one side and has a piece cut out that lets you slide in a pin which screws into the forward stud on the stock. You then screw a nut tight that holds the bipod against the stock and the normal clip for the sling can attached to the end of the pin.

Its this pin that I've lost.

    Describing without pictures is hard!

Ah its a waste of time without photos or make and model for the bipod.

Bin it and buy yourself a proper Harris.

Googling tells me that I own a:

    Caldwell 13-25" clutch type bi-pod

yes, but the mount was slightly different. wasn't a rail mount, it was held in by a pin that screws into the stock and the sling clip can be attached the top of the screw so you can still use the sling.

i might just go get a harris...

You can always look at Deben. Same design, quality, etc. but new for €55 or the swivel one for €70.

    what is the swivel option?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 28,697 Mod ✭✭✭✭Cass

It comes with the handle you see in the picture above. You can turn the handle and lossen the tension on the nut. It allows the bipod to tilt from side to side to shoot on uneven ground. You can leave it slightly loose and the bipod will turn with a little pressure. Or you can loosen, tilt the bipod/rifle, and then tighten the bipod to keep the gun in that position.

Very handy and the same feature in a Harris costs around €119 - €129 depending on dealer.
