Im looking to buy a fox caller but am not sure on what brand of a one to go for. I have seen videos of many of different callers on youtube and for sale on websites but not sure which one to choose. If anyone has one that they find to work well let me know about it and where I can get one.
    Thanks.

Either Tenterfield or Best fox call for me.

The Tentefield is good, but i can struggle with it at times (no idea why). The Best fox call i haven't used too much, but makes all the right noises and should be no reason why it wouldn't.

Agreed with Cass on the tenterfield I have one on the same chain as a Fox blaster, blaster might their attention but the other makes them come running for you

I would forget them all and either get the wam caller or do it yourself. I find the random nature of call made by yourself to work better.

If you do want to go electronic, have you an mobile? Plenty of sound clips that you can download free out there. An external speaker may be needed, but still much cheaper than a caller.

The calls above are all manual ones, and cost at most €10. The inconsistency of the call due to it being lung powered i think makes it work as well as it does.

I find electronic ones can be less effective, and in some cases not effective at all.

Has anyone here any experience with the foxpro electronic caller? They're about €150 I think( could be more ). Couple of vids on youtube but I'd like to hear from someone who has used it

I made a caller out of 2 empty shotgun cartridges in 10 minutes for the craic one day I was bored.
I brought it up to a place I know there are some foxes, after about half a dozen blast out popped a lad from the cover and started walking towards me! I have no experience of callers or calling but something that costs nothing and works well would tick all the boxes for me.

I just use the mouth callers.

I always use something like a tenterfield or foxcaller pro to get them in and I use a WAM caller to call them in closer.

The WAM or a widgeon whistle I've found to be the best.

The back of my hand has also worked when the fox couldn't hear the WAM, get a few different ones and try them out.
