Yeah, battery life still appears to be **** following the update.

Did you get it OTA or flash it yourself? I haven't noticed any major drop in batter performance yet. My wifi signal seems weaker though.

Flashed it myself from recovery mode. Not rooted, stock.

Full factory reset and everything, privacy guard addressed for Play Services and the like.

Did you need that with CM12s? I took all the privacy guards off Play Services last update and the battery was fine.

Does stock recovery wipe cache and dalvik? Did your baseband upgrade?

I kept it turned off as battery life was fine until 12S.

I have no idea what any of the rest means. Literally all I did was factory reset the phone, download the update and install it from recovery.

I have found before that battery can be crap for a cycle or two after installing a new ROM and then settles down as it beds in. Maybe give it a day or two and see. I unplugged my phone at 6.30 this morning and I am on 85% now (texts browsing, emails and twitter the heaviest use). I haven't noticed a decrease in efficiency so far.

I don't think is any worse than it was before, but compared to how exceptional it was on 11S when the phone first came out, it's absolutely awful.

I was thinking about that yesterday too and you have to take in to account the battery degrading slightly in year. I used to get almost two days out of the phone on 11s now at a push 1.5 but I am a lot harder on the phone than I was. I don't even bother worrying about it now I just plug it in every night no matter what. It is usually around 30% going to bed.

My phone isn't a year old. It wouldn't have a hope of lasting all day. I plug it in in both the office and at home.

I'm having the old "Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped working" message a good bit this morning too.

Anybody running Exodus having issues? Loved this rom and was flashing nightlies weekly. Not so happy now as I'm getting an odd reboot, slight lag and a funny issue where either Spotify or google music may start randomly playing in my pocket!

I'd even revert to an older version if I knew which one was the most stable? under pressure in work so haven't time to trawl the xda forums. Thanks!

I spoke to soon, getting random reboots today. Going to wipe and go back to 14th nightly.

Oh wow that's pretty bad alright! I haven't had that bad of battery life since my iPhone! There is something very wrong there. Would you consider going down the root, custom recovery and flashing route?

I'm sitting prepping for a full wipe and install of the latest CM12 nightly to upgrade the modem/firmware first (then wipe and install exodus) and read a post on the xda thread from a guy saying he went back to the 21st after reboots and it's rock solid.

Fair play to you! Let me know if it pays off. May attempt over the weekend. Thanks again!

No bother, it's a right pain to do clean installs though, I'm thinking if this works I may just leave the phone alone and not be upgrading the whole time anymore....until I get the itch again after a week. :pac:

Can't remember if I asked this before

Is there a record within Google account / anything else of the cyanogen rom on at x date. Basically I want to revert back to the rom that was on the phone when I got it because I never had better battery life.

If it helps, I think it was the last update to 11S that buggered things. You could try going back through the stable releases on the CM downloads page?

Flash 14th if your going to go at it. I first installed the latest CM12 nighly to upgrade firmware and turn it on just to check, then flashed 21st Exodus. Thought it went well and spend an hour and half reinstalling apps and signing into accounts etc when I clicked into status under about phone and got an unfortunately phone process has stopped error. Quick google said sim tool kit error and sure enough that app wouldn't started, no fix like clearing cache would fix it, couldn't face another clean flash so I dirty flashed 22nd nightly and that fixed it but I have had 1 soft reboot since(in 2 days though so not too bad).

Really I should clean flash back to 14th but haven't the time.

Flashed back the 14th over the 21st and haven't had any bother yet. Exodus definitely isn't as good as it was regarding battery life or performance I feel. Used to be excellent on both.

Dropped my Oneplus over in London and now the he screen is cracked and the bottom 10-15% is touch unresponsive, home, back and menu buttons dead aswell :(

Is there any way to quarantine that area? Change the resolution or whatever, just make it so that part is black and it only displays in the remaining 90% of the screen?

I managed to turn on the 3 buttons software version so its fairly useable for now, actually if I could lock them to the top of the screen instead of the bottom Id be in business, anyone know if theres a way to do that?

Basically if I could just tell the phone to invert itself Id be in business...

If you have all the files downloaded and ready to go on your desktop you just need to have your computer running in 'disable driver signature verification' mode as the rep will ask you to do it if you already haven't.

Edit: they will send you an email about 1hour before you have your session. You click the link they give you and he's in on your desktop. Don't worry, he can only the files he needs and your wallpaper will turn black.

They will even give you a chance to record the whole session by just clicking the button at the start. The session file will then be saved to your computer.

Dirty Flash back. No major problems (no systems process, apps force closing, lag, etc) yet.

Got the CM 12.1 update last night, is there any way I can get the old folders back? I'm not liking the new ones at all.

Try Nova Launcher and you could customise the folders a thousand ways? My wife had the same complaint yesterday and I can't find anywhere that trebuchet settings can be changed.

The new folders look awful with that solid grey box

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,905 ✭✭✭grimm2005

Have to agree that the new folders suck. They are basically the exact same as they are on iOS and don't fit in at all.

What's bothering me most though is the new dialler. There's no longer a search bar where I can search for businesses etc and the recent contacts grid is gone too so now all you get upon opening is a dial pad.

Agree! Why do they not open where the folder is positioned on the screen? Why open at the bottom?! It's only a small thing but it's annoying!
